Incredible attorney and person. Joe Bugni was appointed as my attorney when I was federally indicted. I met with Joe the day of my arrest, and he clearly explained everything to me. He was able to calm my emotions and fears in what was a very confusing ordeal. I was confined in the county jail, and... Joe went beyond meeting with me to discuss the case and the legal aspects. He met with me to just be a friend and share my anxieties. For those who have no experience with the court system, nothing moves quickly, and although Joe didn’t always have new updates, he would still come very frequently to just listen to my concerns and allow me to vent on the challenges of life in county jail. Joe went above and beyond what I could see of everyone else’s lawyer doing. With the legal matters he pushed and challenged the government and filed lots of motions and allowed us to settle upon a reasonable deal which could have easily been doubled or tripled if someone wouldn’t have challenged their case. But Joe did. In my experience with him, he was not only a great person but an excellent lawyer. He communicated with me and my family and never made us feel rushed. He kept my best interests in mind and always explained every aspect of the case to me, the whole time I never felt like I was merely a number or a client. He made me and my family feel like so much more.

I have known Joe and he has been co-counsel representing me for approximately 6 years. During this time he successfully won a grant of habeas corpus in the federal court. The following comments reflect my experience with Joe during this period of time. I have so many positive things to say about Joe... it risks sounding like hyperbole but is an accurate account of my experience. Joe, was very helpful with my son's case. He met with him in a timely manner, appraised him of what steps would be taken, what would happen and followed through with everything.
