My experience with Aaron regarding C-level Employment Contracts

Aaron was veracious, efficient, and completely worthy of my entrust to spend billable time on what was important. Unlike my experience with others, I did not get billed for any research time used for himself to become more educated in order to give advice and counsel--- he already knew what was need...ed. That is how it should be.

A great lawyer and a great guy

I came to Aaron Halstead because I was concerned that I was about to be terminated unfairly. His appraisal of my situation was honest and practical: we talked through potential strategies for proactively addressing my concerns, including his helping me to put pressure on my employer to do what is fa...ir. His intervention appears to be succeeding, as I am negotiating a redefinition of my position that will hopefully bring about what's best for everyone. Aaron’s representation is very fair. More than once he has recommended *not* taking an action as it would cost extra money and wasn't warranted. At his suggestion we have worked mostly by e-mail, to keep costs down. His e-mails are thoughtfully considered, down to earth, and helpful. It is a great relief to have a strong and expert person in my corner, who genuinely has my interests at heart.

Major Concerns

I hired attorney Halstead to represent me in a dispute with my former employer. The case went into litigation and was decided by a trial, which I lost. Attorney Halsted's fees were three to four times his initial estimate, even though litigation and trial were fairly straight forward (e.g. no ex...ternal witnesses in the trial, attorney Halstead's discovery efforts were limited to one discovery request, he did not take any depositions). Attorney Halstead sued the wrong party for breach of contract. Attorney Halstead made two factual errors in his opening and closing statements in the trial that were corrected by the other side and that contradicted my own direct testimony which I had prepared with an associate of this firm suggesting that Attorney Halstead was not familiar with key facts of the case.

"I have had the pleasure of working with Aaron for a number of years. He is a skilled litigator, and his reputation as one of the Wisconsin's best worker's compensation and employment attorneys is well-deserved. He approaches each client's case with care, attention, and methodical strategy, and he is never afraid to take a case to hearing or trial when necessary. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a worker's compensation or employment attorney."

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Aaron is an incredible reliable, knowledgeable and hard-working attorney that I often consult with on labor and employment matters, and, on occasion, worker's compensation matters (I don't handle many worker's comp matters). In addition to being a great attorney, Aaron is also very friendly, helpful and passionate about his work and his clients."
