Charles William Malette

He took our money and lied to us. He said he was filing his appearance but a month later he still did not file his appearance. He lied and kept delaying the case. He never returns calls or keeps us informed of anything. I'm now trying to get my money back and getting the state bar involved. I'm very ...disappointed and do not recommend him. He is too involved in his personal life and on social media way too much. I just hop I can get money back because he did nothing for me.

Sounds professional on the phone but when he gets your money (in a hurry), you don't hear anything and when you do get a hold of him, he promises to meet your family member, whose sitting in jail and does not show up. He promised Dec 12, 2017 and didn't call or show up. Promised today and didn't show... up. He pretends he busy in court or with a client and will call back and never does. Save your money and hire someone else or your loved one will be sitting in jail unrepresented over the Christmas holidays.

Charles is a wonderful negotiator and very thorough. My case involved an extremely difficult child welfare matter and Charlie was able to get me my son. He always sat down before the hearings to prepare and review the court record with me. While I hope I do not need his services again, I would nev...er to call him again or recommend him. He really cares about his clients.

I asked Charles Malette to help my son who got a rape charge. We had lots of witnesses. We gave him all the names and phone numbers and he called 1 person 5 days before the case was to go to court. But he never talked to her. He never returned her call when she called him back. We told him the 1 pe...rson had spoke to the person who made the charge at the ER when she first went to the er. and he never called anyone else. I told Mr. Malette that it would be ok to say he didn't want to help with the case and get a court order lawyer for my son. We didn't have a lot of money to pay him. He said he was ready. But the day before trial. He had my son take a very bad plea. He told him he would get work release and only get jail time. He's looking at some very bad stuff before of Mr.malette. We believe that Mr.Malette was working with the Prosecutor to help them not my son. We have tried to get Mr.Malette to get a court order lawyer and he filed paperwork after 3 weeks after the plea was taken. He never told my son that when he went to the PO's offices that the minute he walked in her offices she would put him on the CSC list. She did. Mr. Malette told my son yesterday , at 6:30pm 8-21-2013 about a DNA test for today 8-22-2013 which he would have received on 8-20-2013. The test cost $95. That we didn't have. If he didn't take the test he would go right to JAIL. We tried to get Mr.Malette to help change the date but he won't and the court couldn't help without Mr. Malette. We did give Mr. Malette money to file a witness list for the trial, which he did not do and he also did not subpoena any witnesses for my son. He did not keep in touch with my son during any of this time and when my son or I would call him, he would not return our calls. He was also told by the judge that if he could not afford to do the case then to get my son a court appointed attorney, he told the judge that he could do it.
