I have practiced law for 40 years, starting in Grand Rapids, and then returning to my home area in Southwest Michigan.  Known primarily as a litigator in high conflict matters, I now exclusively handle contested divorce and probate disputes.  My clients have been recognized as being very prepared at trial.  It is the intensive preparation that enables my clients to settle their disputes in a satisfactory manner or to receive a favorable ruling from the Court. 

With a background in education/coaching, entertainment/theater, and law enforcement, I feel I have unique qualities that make me a very successful trial attorney and effective legal counselor.  Helping people fight back against manipulation and abuse by their spouse or other family members has been my passion and practice.

Excellent Lawyer
I am very satisfied with the legal help provided by Mr. Puckett. I hired him to help with my divorce when things had started to become messy. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, has a very good sense of how situations are going to play out, and also keeps the human side of things in mind. I came to the initial consultation terrified. I was being falsely accused of abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. I had no idea how any of this worked. As far as I knew, I was going to end up destitute and broken after the divorce. After explaining my situation to Mr. Puckett, he gave me what he thought a likely outcome would be. And he was right. Instead of the nightmare that I thought would play out, I ended up with a fair and equitable settlement with my ex wife. I would recommend Mr. Puckett in a heart beat!

Battle Ready Tells it Like It Is! Generous with His Time & Reasonably Priced
As a woman who was in a very vulnerable position I was fortunate to have Attorney Mr. Puckett in my corner fiercely protecting my interests! He handled the legalities and battles of my divorce. Mr. Puckett is a incredible attorney!
Mr. Puckett had helped me immensely with my two divorces. The first involved custody of my daughter, she was only 3 months old during the time of separation. He made a very tough situation much better. I can’t thank him enough for how he was able to help me get the custody and child support worked out. He also helped me with buisness and property divisions that made it possible for us to have our own home to live in. My second divorce involved me having to get a personal protection order. Mr. Puckett once again made a very hard time much better. He helped my daughter and I to be able to stay in our home (we were being kicked out of it before that). He also made it possible for me to be able to keep the home With equity and my buisness. Mr. Puckett is a incredible attorney! He has made impossible situations turn out better than expected. I confidently recommend him!

Robert Puckett is an attorney's attorney
In 2019/2020, Robert represented me in a Michigan guardianship case that was filed by another party. The other party to the case was represented by 2 attorneys and neither attorney had any clue as to the law concerning Michigan guardianship jurisdiction. Robert researched the Michigan and Federal statutes concerning guardianship law and was able to reference the exact statutes that were instrumental in the lawsuit being dismissed. He is very straight-forward, honest, and can be counted on to represent his clients in a caring and timely manner. He always did what he said he would do, and he never gave me any reason to doubt his word. In the future, I will DEFINITELY use him again. Robert is the best of the best as an attorney. I know because in January 2019, I hired a different attorney on a Monday and fired that attorney on the next Saturday because he failed to take the action he promised, and he would not even answer my phone and email messages. You will not have any of those problems with Robert.

Smart, sharp and is a man of his word.
I had a meeting with Bob today regarding a landlord tenant lease. He allowed me to voice my concerns and problems, and then proceeded to advise me on what the required things on the document were. He was patient with me asking probably far too many questions. He is intelligent and held true to his word of the free consultation. I highly recommend him to anyone I know.

great for divorce
I went through a nasty divorce, my ex husband was a complete psycho taking our case to trial. lots of stress, but Bob reassured me how it would turn out and no surprises the court date turned out just like he said. He is very good at what he does, and doesn't feed into the hype like other lawyers. Highly highly recommend

Best divorce lawyer in town.
Mr. Puckett kept me on the right path. By taking the high road, the Court awarded me full custody and the house. It was hard to keep my cool at times, but Mr. Puckett continued to assure me of how things would turn out if I followed his advice. He was right every time.
