Biography
I’m Nick Leydorf, an estate planning and elder law attorney based in Lansing, Michigan, and the founder of Leydorf Law Firm, PLLC. I grew up in Bannister—a tiny town surrounded by cornfields, cows, and the kind of close-knit values that shaped who I am today. From Ovid-Elsie High School, my path led me to Michigan State University on a Quiz Bowl scholarship, then to The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where I graduated cum laude from law school.
My journey into estate planning is personal. Years ago, my wife Anjuli—whom I met my freshman year at MSU and who went on to become a classically trained opera singer—received a phone call that changed our lives. Her mother had been found unconscious and passed away two weeks later. In addition to our grief, we were forced to navigate painful, unnecessary difficulties because she had no estate plan in place—no will, no trust, no powers of attorney. The legal process was confusing, time-consuming, and emotionally overwhelming at a time when my wife simply needed space to heal.
Experiences like that shape families forever. They also shape careers.
Because of what we went through, I dedicated my practice to helping families stay out of court and out of conflict. My goal is simple: to make estate planning clear, accessible, and stress-free so your loved ones never have to experience the frustration and uncertainty we faced. I work closely with clients to ensure their wishes are honored, their assets are protected, and their families are spared from probate complications.
