Biography
David concentrates his practice in Family Law, and Criminal Defense. He is accredited as a National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) Attorney and has been awarded by West Law Legal as a Super Lawyer from the years 2017-2024. Attorney David Parnell cares about his clients and makes sure they get the results they want.
He has spent time with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Washtenaw County Office of the Public Defender, Michigan State Appellate Defenders Office (SADO), and private defense firms. He has practiced extensively in both United States Federal Courts on a National Level and Courts across the State of Michigan. David has represented both the Victim and the Accused; and as such, he possesses a unique perspective of both sides of the courtroom. David also works beyond the Trial Court, and into the Michigan Court of Appeals, and then on to the Michigan Supreme Court.
David has worked on many cases with the State Appellate Defender’s Office. Most notably by establishing new case law regarding an illegal search and seizure by the Oakland County Sheriff Department. David remains committed to his clients beyond the courtroom and makes sure that every issue is carefully examined and raised in the interest of his clients. David is an active member of the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club (GPYC), Macomb Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Federal Bar Association, Metro Detroit Bar Association, and Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM).

Great negotiator
Mr. Parnell is skilled at negotiating on his clients behalf. He was able to have my traffic citation reduced on my behalf as I was unable to be in court on the date specified. I would definitely have David represent me on any legal matter.
