He focuses his practice on representing businessowners, homeowners, property owners, and other insurance policyholders in fire, property damage, and insurance-coverage disputes with insurance companies and in errors-and-omissions cases against insurance agents. He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases against insurance companies and insurance agents, and recovered millions of dollars for his clients. He has also litigated cases against residential and commercial builders, restoration companies, and fire repair contractors.

Mr. Hamawi has also litigated cases against towing and storage companies for charging consumers unreasonable and excessive towing and storage costs, and for wrongfully determining vehicles to be abandoned. He has also litigated cases involving breach of commercial lease agreements, commercial real estate transactions, commercial purchase agreements, and sales commissions agreements.

Mr. Hamawi has represented insurance agents, financial advisors, stockbrokers, and public insurance adjusters in regulatory or other disciplinary actions initiated by governmental agencies.

Mr. Hamawi holds licenses in Property, Casualty, Life, Accident, and Health insurance. He is a Licensed multiple lines Property and Casualty, Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Counselor (LIC). He earned the prestigious Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®), Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. He previously served as a managing principal for an insurance and financial services agency, where he managed two offices and built a multi-million-dollar book of business.

While in law school, Mr. Hamawi interned for the Honorable John Corbett O’Meara, Federal Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He also interned for the United States Department of Justice in the United States Attorney’s Office in Detroit.

While in law school, Mr. Hamawi also served on the Cooley Law Review Board of Editors as a Symposium Editor, where he received the Law Review Board Award for the most significant contributions to the Law Review Board during his tenure. He also served on the Moot Court and Mock Trial Executive Boards, and was a member of Cooley’s National Trial Team. Upon graduation, he received the Student Leadership Achievement Award for his outstanding participation in a leadership role during law school. He is bilingual and fluent in Arabic.

Mr. Hamawi has also taught as an adjunct professor teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Personal and Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Insurance and Financial Planning at the University of Phoenix, Davenport University, and Southern New Hampshire University.

Attorney Rabih Hamawi (Highly Reccommend!!!)

Knowledgeable, diligent, strategic, and reliable are a few of the many words that come to mind when I think about attorney Rabih Hamawi and my experience with him. When I initially brought him my case, he informed me that resolving it would be a challenge but he would do the best he could. And he did...! He always kept me up to date, thought 2 and 3 steps ahead, and his years of expertise in the field gave us the best strategy to get my case resolved. I was very impressed with how transparent he was each step of the way, giving updates immediately after he received them. I was very confident in his work and his advice through this process knowing he had my best interest. Exceptional Attorney

Attorney Hamawi has been an amazing resource to level the playfield between the common individual and large insurance companies. I am very thankful that I was referred to him, he is truly a Godsend for those who are taking advantage of by predatory insurance companies. From day one he has been unders...tanding, empathic and honest about his practices and education on how to appropriately navigate the claim resolutions. I felt helpless, irate, and lost. Through his guidance, the burden was immediately relieved, and I am so thankful to say it is directly because of his knowledge and efforts that I found resolution for my car theft and fire claim. He made sure my insurance claim was fully paid. Thank you for fighting for me and ensuring there was no negative backlash and consequences to a horrible situation.

I cannot recommend them enough.

Honestly, Rabih and his staff are some of the best legal experts I've ever seen and/or worked with. Not only are they prompt at getting back to you (rare in the legal field) but they also genuinely care about you & your family. I personally didn't hire Rabih given my specific situation but it turns... out that was a really good thing because it would have been a massive waste of money/time to hire a lawyer in my specific situation. He could have taken advantage of my situation but instead he went above and beyond when consulting my case and gave me an ABUNDANCE of information regarding how to get my family into a better situation legally. The Law Office of Rabih Hamawi is the ONLY law firm I will trust my family with when it comes to Home Insurance Claim disputes going forward. I cannot recommend them enough.

In June of 2017, my office building was destroyed by fire. I tried communicating with the insurance company, but they gave me the run around and eventually denied my claim. So, in late July I reached out to two attorneys. I talked to one, then the other. The second was Rabih Hamawi, and needless to... say after talking to Rabih, I knew immediately who my attorney was. Rabih was informed and well versed in insurance law. When the insurance company denied my claim, Rabih was ready to fight for me. He always stayed one step ahead and kept me informed every step of the way. After filing a lawsuit in federal court and fighting with the insurance company for two and a half years, Rabih obtained a settlement that surpassed my expectations. So, if you happen to find yourself in the unlucky position of having to fight an insurance company for what you deserve, make Rabih Hamawi your first call, he is the fighter that you need. You can thank me later.
