Mr. Hamawi has extensive expertise in insurance coverage, business negotiations, and commercial litigation. He focuses his practice on representing businessowners, homeowners, property owners, and other insurance policyholders in fire, property damage, and insurance-coverage disputes with insurance companies and in errors-and-omissions cases against insurance agents. He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases against insurance companies and insurance agents, and recovered millions of dollars for his clients. He has also litigated cases against residential and commercial builders, restoration companies, and fire repair contractors.

Mr. Hamawi has also litigated cases against towing and storage companies for charging consumers unreasonable and excessive towing and storage costs, and for wrongfully determining vehicles to be abandoned. He has also litigated cases involving breach of commercial lease agreements, commercial real estate transactions, commercial purchase agreements, and sales commissions agreements.

Mr. Hamawi has represented insurance agents, financial advisors, stockbrokers, and public insurance adjusters in regulatory or other disciplinary actions initiated by governmental agencies.

Mr. Hamawi holds licenses in Property, Casualty, Life, Accident, and Health insurance. He is a Licensed multiple lines Property and Casualty, Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Counselor (LIC). He earned the prestigious Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®), Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. He previously served as a managing principal for an insurance and financial services agency, where he managed two offices and built a multi-million-dollar book of business.

While in law school, Mr. Hamawi interned for the Honorable John Corbett O’Meara, Federal Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He also interned for the United States Department of Justice in the United States Attorney’s Office in Detroit.

While in law school, Mr. Hamawi also served on the Cooley Law Review Board of Editors as a Symposium Editor, where he received the Law Review Board Award for the most significant contributions to the Law Review Board during his tenure. He also served on the Moot Court and Mock Trial Executive Boards, and was a member of Cooley’s National Trial Team. Upon graduation, he received the Student Leadership Achievement Award for his outstanding participation in a leadership role during law school. He is bilingual and fluent in Arabic.

Mr. Hamawi has also taught as an adjunct professor teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Personal and Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Insurance and Financial Planning at the University of Phoenix, Davenport University, and Southern New Hampshire University.

Very Knowledgeable Attorney

I highly recommend Mr. Hamawi and his law firm after my experience with them. His knowledge and expertise are unmatched. After being turned down by another attorney Mr. Hamawi agreed to take my case. He said it would be a difficult case but he was sympathetic to me and wanted to help me get jus...tice. He explained everything thoroughly to me including possible outcomes and he made sure that I understood everything completely. Any questions I had throughout the process were always answered promptly by him and his staff. He was able to negotiate a good settlement for me thereby saving the expense of a costly trial. Its worth the time and effort to hire Attorney Rabih Hamawi

I recently went through a horrible situation with a fire to my home. Attorney Rabih Hamawi was instrumental in helping me through such a period and changing a horrible problem with my insurance company into a pleasant one. His demeanor and his knowledge in making sure for a quick and painless experie...nce was appreciated. He listened and believed to my testimony as he acknowledged and heard my truth. He was very insightful as his mannerisms displayed that he loves his work, and he puts in the time and energy to get the job done. He went to bat for me when other attorneys were looking for a payout rather than dealing with a stubborn insurance company; I had nothing to hide, and he was behind me all the way. He made me feel comfortable and he put in the time and work in following through with what was seemingly a difficult no-win situation. I would surely recommend others to use him in their fight against insurance companies that don’t listen to their insureds.

When I first met Rabih I was a bit apprehensive as it seems like society had set me up to be suspicious of attorneys. From the moment I met him I felt that he had integrity and cared about his clients. Everything he has done since that day proved that he is a man with ethics and integrity. Never d...id I think that anyone could take on a giant insurance company and win but Rabih was calm and cool doing what he does and won. My father who is 87 years old has been so stressed since this entire thing started and yesterday the news that he had to pay nothing was by far the happiest I have seen him in almost a year. I would recommend this incredible attorney to everyone that needed help against an oppressive insurance company. knowledgeable , communicative , sensible ,understandable

I am very grateful for the real legal help and protection , which I always receive from Mr. Rabih Hamawi, Jul 2018 had a Sever Fire accident at our Motel , Insurance Company instead of paying anything , trapped me and my corporation under Law Suit of Misrepresentation. Most of the Michigan Law Fir...m refused to represent us but Mr. Rabih in first meeting assured me that “ Raj it will take time but I will be sure you will be saved and happy . Which today I am , So thankful and Obliged .
