What can I say? Josh Rubin saved my life. I was falsely accused on two counts of 1st degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. Each count carried a mandatory 25-year sentence. I was looking at spending the rest of my life in prison. Once the shock of the accusation wore off, I started looking for attorneys. I had a consultation with one attorney. Then I found Josh on Avvo and gave him a call. We met for a consultation and I put him on retainer shortly after. Josh is a very open and honest attorney. He told me like it was even if I didn’t like to hear it. However, I appreciated this type of honesty all the way through my journey. He told me from the start it was going to be a major uphill battle because my accuser was a child. People tend to believe kids in these types of cases because why would they make something like this up? Well trust me, they can. I know firsthand. From the first consultation I was very open and honest with Josh. As things progressed, we developed a very good working relationship. He’s extremely intelligent, professional, and well prepared. I told him everything about my background, what I knew about the case, every little detail I could think of, and why my accuser might be doing this. Anything he asked of me, I did to the best of my ability. The best thing you can do is be honest with him. Whatever it is, good or bad, tell him the truth. You’re only going to hurt yourself if you don’t. His opening statement at my trial was an absolute masterpiece. He had every juror so focused on him that if he said “BOO!”, every one of them would’ve fallen out of their chair. I’ve never seen anything like it. Then we went into the trial. I had 6 people testify against me and he systematically shredded each of their testimonies. Watching him make my accuser read back each lie she told between the preliminary exam and trial was so satisfying for me to witness. In the end, all 12 jurors agreed and found me NOT GUILTY on both counts! It’s extremely rare to get a full acquittal on a 1st degree CSC charge in St. Clair County. I believe this was the first time in roughly 10 years and Josh just did it! I will be forever grateful to him for giving me justice in my case.

Josh is prompt, responsive and very hard working. His reputation of being a quality fighter for truth and fairness precedes him and is spot on. When we shopped for legal counsel, we called three and he was the only one who responded back within the hour. He was diligent to ensure the truth was revealed and resolution attained without exorbitant fees. My grandkids had a lapse in judjement while Urban Exploring. They entered a building they thought was abandoned. It was not, and, the owner caught them. Felony charges were the result. Josh Rubin was able to get charges lowered and a plea was made that reduced jail time to a very short probation and minor fines. These kids were facing serious jail time and criminal records.
