One of Cass County’s oldest law firms, Hillis, Hillis, Rozzi & Knight, which was founded in 1907, welcomes Andrew Achey to the ranks of the firm. Andrew will officially begin his private practice January 1, 2013.
Andrew graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree of Liberal Arts from Indiana Wesleyan and graduated with a Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert McKinney School of Law. He is a member of the Cass County Bar Association and of the Indiana Bar Association.
After being admitted to the bar, Andrew began his legal career by working as a Cass County Deputy Prosecutor. It was while he was working as a prosecutor that he successfully tried several jury trials, bench trials, and negotiated hundreds of plea agreements. He will leverage his experience as a prosecutor to benefit his private clients.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Andrew volunteers as Logansport High School Girls Cross County coach and works closely with the Logansport High School Career Center by mentoring high school students contemplating legal careers. He also teaches criminal law at Ivy Tech and is actively involved in local politics.
Andrew has been married to his wife, Betty, for more than fifteen years, and together they have three children Kiersten, Kennedy, and Chandler who all attend school in Cass County.
