The Best Protection Order Lawyer

Scott did a fantastic job from the consultation, communication, and the trial. He was very transparent and more than fair on the billing. He hammered the defendant on the stand and won this for my family. He put his heart and soul in his work which is something you don't find in a lawyer. Scott Kelly focuses his practice on criminal and civil litigation. He has litigated criminal defense, OVI (DUI), personal injury, protection order, and other civil litigation cases in trial courts throughout Ohio as well as in Ohio’s district courts of appeals, the Ohio Supreme Court, the US Federal District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, and the US Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Scott is actively involved in several fraternal and charitable organizations in Shelby County, and is especially proud of his work as an elder at Sidney First Presbyterian Church. Scott is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Shelby County Bar Associations, and the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Scott is a lifelong resident of Shelby County, Ohio. He is a graduate of Houston High School in Houston, Ohio. Scott attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky where he graduated magna cum laude with double majors in history and religion. Scott earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Great lawyer

Best attorney I have had

I've had to hire several attorneys for my criminal cases over the years and Scott Kelly is by far the best I have had. He answered my calls and texts right away. I was in a tight spot and he was honest with me about what he could help me with and what he couldn't. At the end of the day the outcome was far better than what everyone else told me to expect.

Great DUI Attorney

I had an OVI charge. It was not my first. Scott got my OVI to go away and got my license back. I can't believe how good of a job he did. I send eveyone I know to Scott. He's the man

Criminal Matter

Upfront honesty

Mr. Kelly and his staff were an excellent choice for our son's OVI case. From the very beginning, Scott explained the legal process and how each of the options he had could play out. His fees were beyond fair and always answered our emails or phone calls promptly. My son's outcome would not have been attainable with Scott's representation.

Civil Case

We had an ongoing neighbor issue that resulted into needing an attorney. We felt wrongly accused and didn't know where to turn. After meeting with Scott we could tell he was experienced in these types of civil cases. We did not hesitate to hire him! He took the stress of this horrible situation off our shoulders. We were very happy with the outcome of our case. I would highly recommend him.

DUI and DUS

Scott helped me with my DUI and the DUS that I got while it was pending. He got the DUS dismissed and I had a great result on getting the DUI reduced. Hopefully I will never need Scott for a DUI again, but he would be the first person I would call!

Hired for OVI Offense

Scott Kelly and his firm are very professional, knowledgable, and organized. They were always curtias, followed up on every court appearance with a reminder and provided me with the information I needed. Scott Kelly himself, is very knowledgeable of the laws and has a good sense of what can become of a case. He was able to lower my charges and sentencing with his plea bargaining ability. He was always able to get me the advice and answers I needed. He was able to work with me on my work schedules and always followed up when I had concerns. I would personally like to thank Scott and would definately recommend Scott Kelly and his firm (including Chris Buccio who had recommended Scott to me due to his expertise in OVI cases) for any OVI cases.

honest & fought hard for our family!

We had tried previously to gain custody of my step son. Our previous attorney did not win our case for us. It didn't even seem she tried. Mr kelly investigated my step sons situation with his mother & even the company she kept such as her boyfriend. He worked hard & in the end he won our case for us. It is hard for a father to gain custody, but scott did it! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing an attorney to work hard for them!

Recommendation for Scott Kelly

I have required the services of Scott Kelly on two occasions. The most recent, Scott assisted me with my deceased motherâ€™s estate. At all times, Scott was compassionate and always available to answer any questions. My father passed away in 1994, so my motherâ€™s loss was the end of a generation. Scott, and his Paralegal, Rena Jones made me feel as comfortable as they could, all documents were ready when I arrived to review or sign; the entire process was flawless. Scottâ€™s professionalism resulted in a high degree of comfort and confidence during one of the most stressful events in my life. I had never participated in an estate settlement and Scott and Rena were always available at a momentâ€™s notice; either on the phone or via e-mail. Scott and Renaâ€™s direction and assurance resulted in a satisfactory conclusion to the process and I am grateful for their participation. Previous customer

He collected money for his services on time. He did not follow up on my emails I sent in a timely manner and he missed an appointment I made with him. He was impossible to get ahold of on the phone and he told me to enter a plea that changed when I went before the judge. I’ve had to get another attorney going forward in my case

civil matter

Spent a lot of time and money on hiring Scott Kelly and then unfortunately finding out that civil cases just aren't his thing! My case wasn't touched for two years before I finally decided to hire another attorney to finish!

Estate Matter

My father hired Scott about 3 years ago to handle an estate case for my grandma that had passed away. Scott did inform my father that this is his first estate case so bare with him thru the process. At first things were going alright, then things started going slow. Scott started not doing his job, he left his work p to myself and my father to take paperwork here and there to have signed or filled out. And im pretty sure that's the purpose of hiring a lawyer. My grandma had left behind two propertys and my fathers plans was to sell the one property to pay off the other property well that's the opposite of what Scott had done. We ended up having to sell the property we wanted to keep and that was supposed to pay off the other property so we didn't lose it. And it didn't. So now like i said about 3 years later our only property we have left is up for sheriff sale . Why?? Cause Scott Kelly didn't do his job. He doesn't return phone calls or do anything he's supposed to.
