Jared Thomas Brankamp

Jared T. Brankamp is a dedicated advocate for the injured and underserved, serving as the owner and managing attorney at Burnside Brankamp Law, LLC in Portsmouth, Ohio. With a passion for justice rooted in his experiences serving communities in need, he focuses on personal injury law, helping clients navigate complex cases involving car accidents, negligence, and wrongful harm. His goal is to provide compassionate, personalized representation that puts clients' best interests first, ensuring they receive the compensation and closure they deserve.

Raised in Columbus, Ohio, Jared attended DeSales High School before earning his Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in 2012. Inspired by a desire to make a tangible difference, he served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in a remote village in Paraguay, South America. There, he collaborated with local committees on projects such as bringing running water to the community and building a school kitchen and eating area, while also teaching and securing federal grants. This transformative experience fueled his commitment to advocating for underdogs, leading him to pursue his Juris Doctor at Capital University Law School in 2018. During law school, he was honored as a Marshall Brennan Constitutional Law Fellow, a Moot Court Board Member, and a Family and Youth Advocacy Fellow.

After graduating, Jared founded a law firm in Columbus, where he represented clients suffering from injuries not of their own fault. In 2022, following the passing of his close family friend and colleague Jeremy Burnside, he relocated to Portsmouth to lead Burnside Brankamp Law. Today, he is admitted to practice before the Ohio Supreme Court, the Kentucky Supreme Court, the United States Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His practice encompasses personal injury and constitutional law matters, with a focus on car accidents, trucking accidents, traumatic brain injuries, wrongful death, workplace injuries, slip and fall incidents, and dog bites. Jared has been recognized for his work with accolades including Rising Stars Honoree by Super Lawyers (2023-2026), Attorney of the Year by Top 100 Lawyers (2022, 2023), State of Ohio Legal Elite by Top 100 Registry (2023), Nationally Ranked Attorney Top 10 under 40 by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (2024), and Lifetime Achievement by Top 100 Lawyers (2024). He has also an Attorney member of the American Association for Justice and the Ohio Association for Justice.
