also known as Ben Cramer
I have more than 15 years of legal experience, including 12 years as the founder of Cramer Legal, LLC. In 2024, I joined Wood + Lamping LLP to give my clients the advantage of a larger team and expanded resources, while continuing to provide the personal attention of a boutique practice.
My practice focuses on helping small businesses and individuals resolve tax disputes, including audits, collection defense, and tax resolution, tax litigation, and tax appeals. I also clients in the formation and operation of business entities. This includes negotiating contracts, advising about legal and tax consequences of various business options, and assisting with mergers and acquisitions.
Earlier in my career, I practiced at a large Cincinnati firm and clerked for both a federal trial judge in Washington, D.C., and a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. I am admitted to practice in Ohio, the District of Columbia, and several federal courts, and I volunteer through the Cincinnati Volunteer Lawyers Program to provide pro bono legal services to low-income clients.

Best tax attorney!
Ben and Christina are the best! They helped us navigate a very serious IRS audit and we couldn't be more thankful as we had no idea where to turn. He took as much time as needed to help us understand the whole process. 100% would recommend!!!

Best Tax Guy Ever
Very good and thorough tax attorney. He and his staff are very good at what they do. They diligently work through my very difficult and complicated situation after inheriting the financial mess left by the previous attorney. Great , great attorney.........

An attorney that felt like family
I've worked with Cramer Legal on several issues that seemed complicated and overwhelming. Ben treated me like family and assured me we would get through these things together and that's what we did, we worked through each phase together. Ben's professional knowledge gave me confidence when I needed...
"Ben hired me as local counsel to assist one of his clients that was stuck in a bad land contract situation in Lorain County. Though the situation lingered for a long time due to our mutual client's reluctance to bring a claim, ultimately, all ended well for the client, which was able to rid itself of a bad situation which had dogged it for years and had been a financial drain on its resources. Ben was willing to rely on my expertise and consider my opinions (which were outside of his wheelhouse). This is the mark of a good lawyer when engaging outside counsel. Furthermore, Ben was prompt, insightful and always considered client needs and cost effectiveness in his approach. I hope I get to work with Ben again! From Lorain County with respect- J.R. White"
"I higly endorse this lawyer. Ben is very intelligent, experienced, highly skilled, and performs high quality work in these most sensitive financial issues. I recommend Ben to anyone needing it done correctly and wanting it done with excellence."
"As a fellow attorney, I strongly endorse Ben Cramer. Because of his unique background, he is able to draw on big-firm expertise, while giving each client small-firm care and attention. He does so with the creativity and committed work ethic you would expect from someone who has successfully started his own small business, as well as the thoughtful integrity you would expect from a lawyer who is also a loving husband and father. He's the one I trust to refer my own clients to when they need help in areas outside of my practice, such as bankruptcy."
"I highly endorse this lawyer. Ben is extremely comprehensive and has extensive knowledge about tax, business and bankruptcy law."
"Ben is an extraordinarily competent attorney. I've worked with him on multiple matters and happily refer clients to him. You won't find better in bankruptcy and tax matters."
"Ben and I have worked with a client together and Ben did a wonderful job answering questions (I do not practice bankruptcy) and with helping get matters resolved through the bankruptcy court so I could resolve the client's matters through the domestic relations court. Ben was a pleasure to work with."
"I endorse this lawyer. Based on my interactions with Ben, I feel very confident in sending my bankruptcy work to Ben."
"Ben is very knowledgeable and takes a practical approach toward representing his clients. I highly recommend Ben for business law matters."
"Ben provides deep analysis of legal problems without losing sight of the practical needs of his clients. Ben's expertise as an appeals attorney benefits from his extensive federal clerkship experience, as well as his years of managing cases in private practice. As a litigator, this experience allows him to skillfully anticipate what a judge is likely to do and tailor his strategy accordingly. Working with Ben, I have found him to be a thoughtful, thorough, and conscientious resource for his clients and colleagues. I endorse this lawyer."
