Graduated with honors from Union College, Schenectady, New York, and received uris Doctor Degree from Western New England School of Law, Springfield, Massachusetts.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Montgomery County, Ohio from 1988 to 1997. Certified as a Guardian Ad Litem in Montgomery County Juvenile Court, and received certification training to handle Ohio death penalty cases. Argued the case of In re M.M. (2009), 122 Ohio St.3d 541 before the Ohio Supreme Court. "BV Distinguished" rating from Martindale Hubbell.
