About Mark:
Mark received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Lourdes College, Master of Science from Tiffin University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Before attending law school, Mark worked for the Ottawa Hills Police Department for nearly 10 years, and during that time attended hundreds of hours of specialized law enforcement training. Some of Mark's advanced law enforcement certifications/training includes:

Mr. Deters was a police Field Training Officer and has extensive experience training both recruit and veteran police officers—specifically in OVI.
As a police officer, Mark estified in Court frequently in criminal, traffic, and DUI cases. Mark was awarded the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) TOP COP Award, seven years-in-a-row, and received a special honor by M.A.D.D. for achieving 189 DUI arrests during 2005. Mark made over 1,000 arrests during his law enforcement career, including over 670 DUI and OVI offenders. Mark also assisted in more than 2,000 DUI arrests by other officers.
Mark has extensive knowledge of DUI and OVI law, thanks to over 19 years’ experience in law enforcement and DUI Defense. He has been certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to instruct police officers on how to administer field sobriety tests.
Mark was certified by the Ohio Department of Health for over six years, as a Senior Operator on the BAC DataMaster Breath Test Machine. Mark personally performed more than 1,000 Breath Tests and Calibration Checks on the BAC DataMaster Breath Test machine. Mark was previously responsible for the care, maintenance, and calibration checks of the BAC DataMaster Breath Test at the police department.
During law school Mark won the Dayton Bar Association Moot Court Competition. Mark was then selected to compete in the National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition at the Pepperdine University School of Law. Mark competed in oral argument rounds to panels of top Los Angeles Entertainment Law Attorneys.
Mark also gained academic recognition in law school by achieving the distinguished “CALI Awards” in Criminal Procedure and Cyberspace Law. He received those awards for earning the highest grade of all students in those classes.

Don't hire for DWI charge
Mr. Deters is an attorney to hire for minor cases like jay walkin, failure to stop at a stop sign or a speeding ticket. I hired him to represent me in a felony DWI. He ignored my phone calls, when we went to court he was clueless, drained my bank account and to top it all of the judge maxed me out on...
