Practice Areas

Divorce and Separation 30%

This area encompasses almost all other areas of domestic relations/family law practice, inlcuding: alimony, child support, visitation and custody and property division as well as parental rights.

30%
Child Support 20%

This matter is addressed during a divorce, if there are minor children born of/during the marriage. If the parents were not married, the Court that retains jurisdiction is Juvenile Court. Tennessee relies on the Income Shares Model to determine child support and is governed by the Tennessee Child Support Guidelines.

20%
Family 20%

Family law is the general catch-all term for domestic matters, including prenuptial agreements, civil unions, same-sex relationships, domestic partnerships, divorce, separation, property settlements, alimony, spousal abuse, adoption, child abuse, child support, child custody and kidnapping. Given the delicacy and determination needed to handle such matters, an experienced family law attorney is a must.

20%
Mediation 20%

The mediation process can help you resolve disputes without going to court and is a far better way to resolve your disputes than litigation. In a mediation proceeding, a neutral third party meets with you and your spouse/romantic partner and assists both sides in amicably resolving their legal disputes. Tennessee requires mediation in a divorce with minor children. However, judges send all divorce matters to mediation prior to trial, and Juvenile Court is now ordering mediation for unwed parents

20%
Adoption 10%

An adoption lawyer helps to place children with parents other than their birth parents. An adoption cuts off the birth parents' rights and responsibilities, and gives them to the adoptive parents. Once an adoption is final, the adopted child receives the same legal treatment as a biological child. Adoption is often an emotional time so you need a knowledgeable, compassionate adoption lawyer to assist you.

Never Left Me and Fought for 4 Years

I hired Ms. Turner to represent me in a divorce, and my ex-husband and his attorney pulled out every trick in the book. Ms. Turner fought them at every turn, but also kept me calm and focused on my real goals. My divorce was resolved, after about 2 years and 2 hearings (that we won). Then less than 6... months later I was back in court, having to fight my ex because he did not want to do what the judge ordered. That took another year, but we won. Then a few months later my ex tried to get custody of my son, but lost, after about 9 months of fighting. The entire time Ms. Turner stayed calm, patient, and collected. She got me and my son what we deserved, but did not overpromise. She kept my expectations realistic, and after 4 years she almost feels like family.

Sad

Sarah been communicating with my husband for maybe 3 months now. He paid most of his lawyer fees up front and it takes almost 3 to 4 days before we hear back . When we do hear back from someone its her assistant. She said one thing and here it is 2 month later and we are still at square one . My mo...nthly payment arrangement has been taking out and I got my own court date . This process haven't help my son get home not one bit . I got my own court date so what is the lawyer doing ?

"I wholeheartedly endorse this lawyer! I first had contact with her as a potential opposing counsel in a case. I contacted her by phone. From that phone call, I was extremely impressed with her professionalism. Often, as older attys we run into young attys who are innapropriately aggressive and often disrespectful. They do not understand the importance of building a strong reputation with other Bar Association members and personnel in the legal community. Sarah, obviously did. I have since been so impressed with her legal skills that I asked her to work with me! There can be no better endorsement!"
