I consulted Attorney Houston for my criminal charge, and asked him a lot of questions. Unlike many other lawyers, he does not reserve any useful information until you pay to hire. He was very patient and gave very useful information at his best knowledge, without an intention to ask me to hire him. Unlike many other lawyers who do not give or avoid giving affirmative answers to avoid responsibilities, which make many consultation fruitless. His answers were clear and affirmative to his best effort. At most time, a "best educated guess" can give a lot of hints to understand a whole picture of a case, and let us know many possibilities. I highly recommend consulting such kind of lawyers, instead of those who avoid any single affirmative answer.

Mr. Houston contacted me in response to my email. He very patiently listened as I explained my current legal issue, asking questions only when he needed more clarification, and NEVER spoke down to me as I expressed my frustrations. He also patiently answered the numerous questions about things I had found in my unsuccessful attempt to researchh laws pertaining to my situation prior to posting my question on AVVO.com. When I asked his retainer fee, he explained, in layman terms, the two possible avenues this case could take and the varying amount of work required for each, which will, understandably, determine his fees. Very ethically, he even suggested that hiring a local attorney who would be more familiar with the DA & judges in that court system may possible be more cost effective. That suggestion, alone earned all my respect because it spoke volumes about his ethics and made it clear that he truly wants to help me resolve this issue and he isn't trying to take me to the cleaners. I immmediately made the decision to hire him as soon as I get the money together. He has agreed to try and resolve my issue for a specific fee, provided that the DA is willing to negotiate and resolve it without a court appearance. If, for whatever reason, it doesn't work out that way and a court appearance is required, we will discuss all the other options at that time.

Mr. Houston was very helpful with my situation and went above and beyond the call of duty. He was very honest and forthcoming He was also empathy and genuine. If I ever need an attorney I would definitely contact Mr. Houston

Mr. Houston bent over backwards for me in giving advice when I handled my case pro se. He did advise me that I would be at a disadvantage by going pro se and that I should seek legal counsel. After I explained that this was not possible due to my finances, he immediately started sending me links to click on and view TN court rules of civil evidence. I'm not sure why he was so very fourth coming with help, but he was!! I owe him BIG TIME!! I really feel this is an attorney who will look toward doing the right thing for his client and not about padding his wallet!! I was able to settle my case on the court house steps. If I had not filed the lawsuit I don't believe this settlement would have ever happened. GOD BLESS Mr. Houston!!

I began looking for a lawyer after me and my wife learned of the situation my nieces were in with another cousin who had custody of MY sisters kids.We presented the information to Ben and he told us up front that it would be an up hill battle.The information that we had would have to be proved in court and alot of it depended on the testimony of my older niece.This is what Ben told us in the begining and he was so right.We were thinking we would have one trial and that would be it but not so we ended up having to go before the judge 3 times.But through all this we won in the end even though it was an up hill battle from the start.Ben done an excellent job all he knew about what was going on is what we told him.Ben did his part as far as what is required of the court for us to do and he knows the law in this field of custody issues.Ben will keep you informed of everything that's going on in your case,as he did ours.Ben is a lawyer and he knows the law he also is a lawyer that YOU can call and talk to if you can't get in touch with him he will call you back as soon as he gets your message,Me and my wife were pleased with his services and we still would be if we had not have won custody.Ben told us when he agreed to take the case that it would be tough and it was.We felt as if Ben was committed to our case and he actually cared very much about the out come.Their was things that happened in the first trial that got us very upset but, it did Ben too and we really felt like he truly was there for us! Thank God I met Mr. Ben Houston, he is the only honest lawyer I have ever met. Before Mr. Houston, I hired many different attorneys, all closer to where I live, in the upper Eastern Tennessee region better known as the Tri-Cities. Every lawyer was all the same, telling me what I wanted to hear to just get my money, then avoid my phone calls, and then make a deal behind the scene without my consent or knowledge, while lying to me, telling me, "take this deal, it's the best you can get"!
