Joshua Thomas Crain

We hired Mr. Crain to represent us in termination of parental rights and an adoption case and recently completed our last day in court yesterday. A friend recommended him to us after they went through a similar situation. We went to Mr. Crain in December 2015 and asked how we go about my husband's ad...opting my son so that he can legally sign for him in all aspects of his care. Mr. Crain explained that we have to petition to terminate the father's rights and once granted, we can move forward with adoption process. The father responded with an attorney and Mr. Crain gave me the option of continuing with court that day (to argue why I believe his rights should be terminated) or to give the father a final chance on record to prove himself or lack thereof. He advised me on the latter and I have to say it was hard at first but ultimately was the better decision because the father didn't even show up to the second hearing. Termination of rights was granted on the second hearing and the adoption was granted in April 2017. It was definitely a long battle but Mr. Crain and his staff did all the hard work. They were professional and courteous through the whole process (even when I relentlessly vented to them and apologized after for "taking their time", they never made me feel like they weren't our partners in this). I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Thank you again!

Like many festival-goers across the U.S. I was scared that being charged with a misdemeanor out of state would ruin my chance of ever going to another festival. My friend and I hired Josh Crain to help us better understand the potential out comes of being charged with misdemeanor drug offenses out of... the state we are from. I have never hired an attorney that I didn't know personally before, so I was scared in the beginning. Wondering if I would be paying the right amount...if I could trust a stranger with my future. My friend and I were very lucky to have Mr. Crain's represent us. His services were affordable and his experience and knowledge were priceless. I hired this attorney for my divorce. I went in for my initial free consultation and Mr. Crain was very professional and gave me all of the information I needed in order to begin the process. He answered all my questions and gave me the full allotted time without making me feel rushed. I felt that hi...s retainer fee was quite reasonable for an uncontested divorce so I hired him. However, the retainer fee he charges is at a lower rate than most because your case is handled mainly by his assistant and not Mr. Crain himself. All communication, meetings, phone calls, etc. are between his assistant and the client/clients. She is very friendly and extremely helpful. I found her to be knowledgeable and she consults with Mr. Crain about everything before making any decisions or taking any actions in the case, but if you want to deal with Mr. Crain himself it'll cost you. Aside from just a few misunderstandings due to miscommunication my interaction with his assistant was positive and she handled everything very well. The only other thing that caught me a bit off gaurd was the billing. After paying the retainer fee I began to receive billing statements detailing what was being charged and taken out of my retainer. The statement revealed that my retainer was diminishing quite rapidly due to the fact that I was charged quite a bit for every phone call, email, meeting, or conversation that was being held about my case. Even if some of these did not include me. For example, they received a call from the court about the date for my final hearing and I was charged for that. Needless to say my retainer ran out way before my case was closed and I ended up having to pay several hundred dollars over what I had initially paid, so be prepared for that. Also, it's best to pay by cash or check because there is an extra 5% charge for paying with a card. Besides my initial free consultation the only other time I saw or spoke with Mr. Crane was on the date of my final hearing 90 days after The paper work was filed. He was very professional and knowledgable and handled everything very well and quickly. He isn't too personable/approachable but no one hires a lawyer for his charm. He and his assistant got the job done well and as fast as they could get it done and that's all I wanted. Overall my experience with Mr. Crain and his office was pretty good.
