Steve Girsky

I cannot say enough good things about Steve and his paralegal, Becky. I came back from Afghanistan a broken man. My ex-wife filed for divorce while I was injured in the hospital, and she had refused me contact with our daughters for months. Steve and Becky helped get my girls back in my life. That is... worth more than all the money in the world. Over time, I went from having visitation every other weekend and no parental rights to having primary custody and full decision making. Do you know how hard that is for a father to do? It was an uphill battle all the way, but Steve and Becky never left my side. They believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Now my girls are in a much better place, emotionally, and I owe it all to Steve and Becky. They have been there for me for almost a decade, and I know they will be here for me through the bad times that are still to come.

I can’t thank Steve and Rebecca enough for what they did for us. Although I did not use Steve for my divorce (I absolutely should have because I overpaid way too much for my divorce lawyer and she wasn’t nearly as confident or experienced) I am so glad I chose him for my termination/adoption/relocati...on case. I had my initial consultation with Steve about possibly changing my current parenting plan but it wasn’t for months later I actually went back to him. When I went back I told him my circumstances about relocating and the lack of support and visitation their bio dad displayed. In my head I wondered about terminating his rights but hadn’t said it yet and Steve put out on the table and I was relieved. From then on it was honestly as smooth as it could be. He offered to let us make payments and he and Rebecca communicated every step of the way. We started with mediation that was not settled and then a court hearing for termination and relocation. The adoption/termination was pushed to a later date because my ex’s mother bought him a lawyer the day before court but our relocation was granted literally right before our military orders said we had to be there. Steve and Rebecca filed motions and worked so hard to make sure we were in court before we had to report to Michigan and it paid off. We truly had the best case scenario happen to us but Steve and Rebecca were not shy of what could happen as well. The were honest with all possible outcomes but were incredibly supportive and optimistic. From our date in August until our adoption hearing in March we have lived in Michigan and you would never know we lived in a different state. I can’t say enough about their communication and availability at any time. I would use them anytime I needed a lawyer if I could. Absolutely the best experience for what started out as bad situation. Steve was able to see us within 2 days of calling. He was attentive, respectful and extremely knowledgable about the law and my case, which involved a family issue. He was straight forward with me about my case. He returned calls on a Saturday and emails on a Sunday. He was very approachable and rep...eatedly asked questions to make sure he understood my side of the story. He successfully fought and won my case, Steve is obviously just a very nice guy. I cannot say enough about Steve and his abilities as an attorney. I am very thankful he was recommended to me. If I have any other issues in the future, he will be my fist call.

As I went to post my review, I see some mixed things and have a hard time believing what I am reading. I have used Mr. Girsky for a few cases and have had nothing but great results. Mr. Girsky and his staff are exemplary of what a law firm should be. I found his Paralegals to be honest and up front a...nd found Mr. Girsky to shoot me straight if he thought we needed to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Not every case is a winning case and not every situation is the same when you consider the circumstances. I have been through this enough times to know that you win some, you lose some. It would not surprise me in the least (based on my experiences with Mr. Girsky) if the negative comments were made out of losing a case that just could not be won. I would recommend this firm time and time again if you want a lawyer and his support staff who will actually work your case and push the other side to step up.
