Biography
Melissa L. Isaak focuses her practice on domestic relations for men. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Isaak served in the United States Army as an active duty soldier for four years. While on active duty, Ms. Isaak attended college as a full-time student and obtained her bachelor's degree and a masters degree in psychology. After an honorable discharge from the military, Ms. Isaak worked as a child and adolescent therapist in both a residential hospital and in a private practice setting. She also worked as an adjunct professor of psychology at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama where she taught courses in general psychology, human growth and development and statistics. Ms. Isaak also obtained a second masters degree in criminal justice and became a published author while conducting research for the United States Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL). She then obtained her law degree from Barry University School of Law where she served as Senior Editor of the Barry Law Review. Ms. Isaak received a direct commission as a JAG officer in the Alabama National Guard and is a member of the Family Law Committee of the Alabama Law Institute. Replied last November 01, 2023This client did not hire me and I was not the attorney who worked on his case. However, I greatly disagree with his recitation of facts. The Alabama State Bar rules prohibit me from disclosing information relative to his claims. That said, I’m not sure why he has left me a negative review as I did not handle his case.

Replied last December 01, 2014After checking with the other lawyers in my firm, it has been determined that this is a false review. There is no client in our firm where these facts apply. In fact, there are rules against what this reviewer has stated was done. There has not been a case where opposing counsel had "misfiled" an agreement. Further, clients are prohibited from calling the Judge directly. This is called "ex parte" communication with the Court. The facts presented in this review show that the review if false. In an email from AVVO dated, October 15th ,2014, AVVO stated the following, "Please note that we do not verify the information in client reviews." As disappointing and arguably irresponsible this lack of verification is on AVVO's part, it is something that must be dealt with by attorneys. My firm fights for father's rights, the rights of children to have both parents in their lives and must often challenge the status quo in doing so. False reviews are apparently part of our challenge.
