I represent individuals in crisis. My practice includes products liability, injury, qui tam/whistleblower, domestic and family law cases. As a U.S. citizen raised in Mexico City, I am not only bilingual, but I have a multicultural worldview that has served me well in representing the diverse needs of my clients. My interdisciplinary background allows me to take a "hands on" approach in meeting my clients needs throughout my years of practice.
Prior to founding the Klok Law Firm, I worked on complex litigation such as In re Silicone Breast Implant Litigation, the groundbreaking Castano v. American Tobacco Company case, the Tobacco Litigation on behalf of the states of Texas and New Mexico. Here is a listing of the Multi-District Litigations I have worked on behalf of my client Plaintiffs::
I was appointed to the Plaintiff's Steering Committee In Re: Nuvaring Litigation. I have experience also in litigating individual cases involving: railroad crossings, medical prescription errors, nursing homes, medical device, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical, aviation, asbestos, tobacco, vehicle and tire defect cases. I have served as vice chair of the American Association for Justice's Preemption Law Litigation Group. I am a regular speaker at legal seminars on a variety of topics such as settlement, litigating personal injury cases and preemption.
I am a strong believer in community involvement, and am a volunteer Guardian ad litem where I work to protect and speak on behalf on children in South Carolina who would otherwise not have a voice within the court system. Additionally, I negotiate loan services on behalf of homeowners in financial crisis to help them keep their homes through loan modifications and refinancing at no charge to homeowners through a collaborate effort with the Homeownership Resource Center, a division of Family Services, Inc., a local non-profit agency.
