Amanda Salcido

Amanda represented me for my divorce and custody case. First of all, she is a good person and that makes a huge difference. I truly mean that! Amanda really is a beautiful person-- all the way to her core. I really appreciate the honesty and integrity she showed me. Secondly, she is upfront, ...honest, and professional. She follows the law. She respects the court and the judges. She is by the books. She won't lie to you and tell you she can deliver unrealistic expectations. She isn't dishonest or a schmoozer. She is real and consciousness of your retainer fee. Lastly, and most importantly, she truly CARED about my case and my daughters well-being. There were numerous occasions where she responded to phone calls and emails, --even on the weekends and every time I communicated with her she was never inconvenienced by the question or concern. My trial did not go the way that I wanted it to go 100 %. With all of the evidence in the world, quality witnesses, and a great plan, the judge and the system are the deciding factors-- sometimes wrong and sometimes unfair. Attorneys aren't the judges, the system, or God. I can still say without a doubt that Amanda represented me with confidence, class, honesty, and integrity!

Amanda is very pleasant to deal with. However, for my family law case I spent weeks compiling evidence for my final hearing. Not a single piece of evidence was submitted. Including proof I'd been paying child support for over two years. I then had to go back to court, without an attorney, and have th...e arrears adjusted. Communication was terrible. I felt like I was never contacted in a timely manner, nor did I feel my case was important. Amanda also went through two paralegals through my time as a client and each misstep was blamed on the former employee.

I am truly grateful to have found Amanda and her team. I have been trying to establish a relationship with my son for years. Because my son and his mother often moved between states, it made it very difficult for me. Shortly after my son moved to Florida I contacted Amanda's office. I was greeted by ...Cheryl. Cheryl was very kind and professional. Shortly after, I spoke with Amanda and took a while to explain my situation to the best of my knowledge. For a handful of months, I dealt with Cheryl directly, sometimes even late night and weekends. During these times, I had some pretty unexpected moments that really required help...Cheryl was right there, seriously. I never felt alone the entire time. I finally flew 1500 miles down to Florida and met Amanda and Cheryl. They were very polite, professional, made me feel real comfortable and Amanda fought real hard for me with such compassion. Amanda and Cheryl truly changed my entire families lives as we got to welcome him to his family up north and at the moment I can not express in words as to how much I owe Cheryl and Amanda for what they have done for us.

Needless to say going through a divorce is a 10 on the scale of stress. OK here is a quick glimpse of my situation. My wife and I decided we wanted a divorce, and my wife filed for the divorce. The reality doesn't hit you until a guy shows up at your door with the papers. My goal was to keep the diff...erence in my retirement and my wife's. It was about 40,000 . My plan was to use the money to refinance my home. My wife's name was on the mortgage, but both our names were on the title. (not an easy refinance situation) She was agreeable to this, because our house was under water since we bought in the boom. Her job was in another city, so moving worked for her. In the end we both managed to reach and agreement that we wanted. Dealing with the mortgage company was a whole other stress to get it done, but not for this review. My fear with attorneys, is that they would rather bleed their clients of their finances and almost encourage a fight between the couple. I have heard horror stories of divorces where this has happened. When I first met Amanda before I hired her, I had to go in and tell my story. I could feel myself choke up a bit, because the pain was new and it hurt. I looked up, and in her eyes I saw genuine compassion. I have always been able to read people, and I knew she was more than just a lawyer. She was a woman with a heart, and the person I wanted in my corner. Luckily my X wife and I are now good friends and the divorce worked out for the best for both of us. Had we had different attorneys that might not have been the case. I never had to go to trial with her, but trust me when I tell you this. She can be tough as nails if needed, and I did see that when we went through a couple scenarios in her office. If my Wife's attorney wanted to play hard ball, she would have kicked his tail lol. You do have to pay a non refundable retainer up front, but She is very honest on her billing. I think I found her through this referral website and I thank God every day that I did. I also have to mention her legal assistant Stephanie. She was there for me on many e-mails and frantic office visits . I couldn't have gotten through it all with out both of them working as a team.

Hired Ms Salcido for child custody hearing and divorce. Ex spouse was withholding the child from me and had a temporary relief hearing. Ms Salcido was suppose to write up the results from the case, meanwhile ex spouse or soon to be ex at the time took advantage of the documents not written up immedia...tely. Three weeks later she finally wrote them up and was poorly written and very unclear if what was given in court. Unfortunately there was no court stenographer present during the temporary relief so I really felt like I got the short end of the and she didn't go to bat for me. I went and hired a new attorney because if that how temporary relief went I didn't want to see the outcome with ms Salcido.
