First of all it's important to understand that I am a practicing physician and have been licensed in the state of Florida for the past 15 years. As you can imagine when I was arrested my world stopped. I had to disclose the arrest to my partners and to the state board. Obviously I was embarrass...ed and humbled. Although A DUI arrest to some people it's not the end of the world to me it was. I discreetly started making inquiries to the physicians but I was closest to regarding a referral for a top notch DUI lawyer. I narrowed it down to three. Quite frankly I was ready to stop after the first one because I wanted to start the process. Mr. Hayslett was the last one that I interviewed. Although my arrest occurred in Tampa and his office was in Clearwater after meeting him it did not matter to me. My case progressed and ultimately I received no conviction and no DUI. I received no penalty from the state board and although I do not practice in the state of Florida anymore my DUI arrest has not caused me any permanent issue with my license or my profession. Years ago I was arrested for DUI in a case that ultimately had many moving parts and required the best counsel to keep my head as high above water as possible.
