I was six months pregnant and was having to use a remote alcohol breath test monitor for a month as part of the court's ruling for a prior "DUI" infringement where I had refused testing at the site. The monitoring involved me receiving text messages 6 times a day where you had to immediately use the... breath machine and transmit the results. I was getting these calls at least TWICE a night between 1AM and 4AM and could not get any sleep. If I missed any of these test times, it represented probation violation. I was in a lose/lose situation! My health was deteriorating, I had two prior miscarriages so baby's life was at risk, and was going to have to change my job to part time so I could get some sleep, maybe, between the calls to test during the day. Being empathetic to this situation, Kevin filed a motion to change the testing to less frequent, daytime administered, blood or urine tests. This was not a common option allowed by the court and Kevin was only aware of it being allowed once before for a patient who had just been discharged from a hospital. Against all odds, he put the extra effort into filing a motion with the court to change the testing from the remote breath monitor to blood or urine tests and the motion was APPROVED! Even though this was a very low probability outcome, Kevin was sensitive to the difficult and dangerous situation I was in, and was willing to take the risk to challenge a delivered ruling and get it changed to a much more humane outcome. That took commitment to a client, intelligence and expertise in in managing the request to modify the court ordered testing method, and courage to take on the court over a delivered ruling. That says some very positive things about his values. Very good attorney and very good person.

I was arrested and charged with 2 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. To make matters worse, it was also on the news. I had a family relative who had hired Kevin on some other issues and had great success. When my family relative found out I was in jail, she called my wife and my wife called Kevin. T...he night I was arrested was Kevin‘s wife’s birthday (a Sunday Night). Kevin actually stepped away from his wife’s birthday party for several minutes to take our call and address the situation and also arrange for me to be bonded out. After being bonded out, the following few days, my wife and I met with Kevin and his staff at their office. We discussed many things including, the severity of my charges, the best and worst outcome of them, and most importantly, Kevin hearing in detail my explanation of what happened to me. I was a wreck that day and Kevin really made me feel comfortable and relaxed. My situation was really bad and it the fact that it was on the news really hit me hard and made me worry. As those meetings went on, I was able to see Kevin using his tools, staff, and resources, to aid my situation and help my defense. Eventually Kevin was able to get my charges to go away conditioned on a program that I enrolled in. I successfully completed the program and couldn’t be more happier with the outcome of hiring Kevin. The difference between Kevin and many attorneys is that he’s very passionate about his job. It’s not work to him. It’s a passion. That’s exactly why he took a phone call on his wife’s birthday. Another unique thing I admire about him is his fire, hunger, and passion for the work as if he is just graduated law school last year. Kevin is not your average attorney. He’s one of the top defense attorneys in the state, and in my mind he is the best....based on my experience with him. He Is extremely detailed. He’s an extremely smart person both for the profession of law and outside the profession. I hired Mr. Hayslett for a DUI. I could not be more impressed with his service and his professionalism. Ultimately I did not end up with a conviction which is all I was looking for. The entire process was smooth and he is extremely knowledgeable and confident and obviously well life and well respec...ted by the looks of how everyone interacted with him. Highly recommend.
