Divorce case

She is one of the best lawyers in Tampa. I was very pleased of her work, very professional. She always responded my questions And explained everything in detail, so I could understand. She is efficient, she knows the laws well . I will recommend her highly . I was very lucky that I was represent...ed by her.

Do yourself a favor and don't hire this attorney

The most honest review I can write about Mrs. Gimenez is to mention what she accomplished in my case. I was a stay-at-home parent for the whole duration of my long-term marriage (18 years), and my ex was the breadwinner parent making over 300k a year. I had no working experience in the US and my last... professional job was over 20 years ago in my home country. A consultant determined that returning to the job market would land me on a 40/45k-a-year entry-level position and the lifestyle during marriage required over 10k a month. Thus, with that information, any person with a little knowledge about the Florida family law would expect I would have received a good amount of alimony from my ex. What Mrs. Gimenez got me for alimony was 0$. Imagine how bad of an attorney someone needs to be, to get his/her client $0 alimony in a case like mine. Her response and comment to that result couldn't be more mediocre. She said "It's not my fault that the Judge is a bad Judge". She blamed the judge for the results of my case because she didn't even realize the mistakes she made to get that poor result. The only thing Mrs. Gimenez is good at is avoiding responsibility for her poor performance and lack of legal knowledge. Most of her responses to the legal questions I asked her during the divorce were untrue. And in all the opportunities when that happened, of course, she denied responsibility It took me just one divorce case (mine) to realize which is the most important information someone needs to have during the final divorce hearing and I won't ever be again at one final divorce hearing without that information, its details, and the proper supporting documentation. After representing clients in maybe thousands of divorce cases during her career Mrs. Gimenez hasn't realized that yet. I had too many issues with Mrs. Gimenez's performance to mention then in this review. Some of them would be that she made decisions without even consulting me which ended up putting my children and myself in some very difficult situations. Also, when my Ex filed for divorce she took my two older children away from home and alienated them. During the divorce, while I was being represented by Mrs. Gimenez my daughter turned 18 and soon afterward she realized was being alienated by the other parent and decided to come back to live with me. I shared with Mrs. Gimenez the details of what my ex has said and done to my children that were told by my daughter. The whole parental alienation situation could have been easily proven with my daughter's testimony but that situation wasn't even known by the judge because Mrs. Gimenes thought it was not important for the financial aspect of my case and she did nothing with that information. But in the end, it was very obvious she couldn't be more wrong. With Mrs. Gimenez as your attorney, you won't receive advice or information about the most important things and facts you need to know to get better results during the divorce. With her, there is no planning or preparation and you will find yourself even being surprised by your own attorney's questions during the hearings. Please don't make the same mistake as me and hire Mrs. Gimenez because you want to save some money since her rates are lower than other attorneys. Believe me, there are a lot of reasons for that. Remember the saying you get what you pay for. And at the end when you have to pay $15,000 to hire an appealing attorney for your case you will realize that it's a much better idea to hire a better and experienced attorney the first time. Another thing you should consider is to please ignore the many positive reviews you can read in Mrs. Gimenez's profile. Don't you make the same mistake I did by trusting those reviews. I have read them and those reviews don't match Mrs. Gimenez's performance in real life.

This client’s characterization of my representation is completely inaccurate. Many of the facts he has stated have also been inflated, however, I will not state the details of the case. I was his THIRD attorney not his first. He is upset because he was awarded attorney's fees for my services and I have initiated court action to collect them, since he is not cooperating with ensuring I secure the funds. He is writing this review as retaliation, since his threats to report me to the Florida Bar failed to intimidate me, as I am confident in my handling of the case. I did not and would never make a decision on behalf of my client without their consent. However, I do not allow a client to dictate how I preform or manage my services. This client with my assistance freely and voluntarily entered into a parenting plan and marital settlement agreement, which he signed. The only issues that remained for the court were alimony, which was not favorable and attorney's fees, which he was granted. The issues were addressed at separate hearings. Although Judge’s do make bad decisions, the denial of alimony was due to a combination of issues, reflected in the court’s judgement. The client’s claim and persistence of alleging parental alienation was in my professional opinion not relevant to the limited issue on the attorney's fees before the court at the time. However, I agreed to somewhat present the claim, it was this client’s repeated insults, putting words in my mouth as he has done above, and making demands I was not comfortable with, which led to my withdraw. I not only prepared for hours but also have hundreds of emails to this client advising on the case, which were based on law and experience, not just an opinion. Ultimately you can not please everyone, and all family law attorneys know there are no guarantees in family law.

Great experience

I hired Jessica for my divorce that included a custody agreement (parenting plan). I knew virtually nothing about divorces, and she was very helpful at answering every question I had throughout the process. It was such a stressful time, and my ex was constantly threatening me with legal issues in at ...attempt to control me and the kids. She was so good at easing the stress from these situations. She's seen the same 'drama' unfold so trust me she'll be able to handle the drama of your situation and help ease any fears/stress. She was prompt in getting back to me, didn't waste any of my time (thus not wasting money), and she was very professional the entire way. I never felt like a number, which was my worry if I went down the street to a large multiple partner firm. Great job & highly recommended!!

The greatest Family Law Attorney

Jessica represented me on a child support case and the results were amazing. She thoroughly read my divorce papers and the parenting plan and found information that the other party did not comply with (which I was unaware) when she called to tell me what she had found I knew I couldn't have asked fo...r a better person to represent me. She not only took the time to listen but she explained all options whether it was good or bad. She fought for my rights to the end. I will forever be grateful of the happy ending. So, if you want results then Jessica Gimenez is your attorney.

Custody and modification

Jessica handled my custody case and she kept me informed through the entire process. She educated me on dos and donts and I received the results I expected. I highly recommend her to handle your legal matters. She is affordable and is very detailed. The best family law attorney in Tampa.
