I hired Ralph Mabie to handle my divorce. After meeting him at my initial consultation I left feeling as if I had made a good choice. However shortly afterwards After paying a retainer it was very difficult to get Mr. Mabie to return my phone calls. This divorce was relatively simple as there were no... minor children involved and the marital assets were straightforward. Mr Mabie ultimately dragged my divorce out to a ridiculous time frame which ended up costing me thousands of dollars beyond what the high estimate was that was discussed at the initial consultation. my opinion is that there a far better options to Mr Mabie as a lawyer and would not recommend using his services.

Mr. Mabie represented us when an unscrupulous attorney (since disbarred) sued us for breach of contract. When he saw the case, Mr. Mabie suggested that he represent us for a very reasonable flat fee. He never wavered on his obligation to us. The other attorney tried every obstacle she could think of,... thinking that we were paying an hourly rate. Mr. Mabie took it to her on every detail, and at trial, she crumbled. When I mentioned to Mr. Mabie that he had done much more than the flat fee covered, he replied "a deal is a deal" and would not accept any additional money. The other attorney was eventually disbarred in 2014 after wronging numerous other clients. We will be ever grateful to Mr. Mabie and his firm. Ask around before you choose a lawyer. Do not accept a rating service that can be easily manipulated by someone with a personal vendetta.

I was clear that I wanted a quick no nonsense case so I could move on to the next phase of my life. I was clear to him that I ...had limited financial resources and he assured me he could get the job done. Mr Mabie took every opportunity to drag out every issue and turn what started out as an amicable parting into a contentious divorce that cost many thousands of dollars beyond what was estimated. The day the divorce was finalized his firm placed a lien on my home, which was my only remaining asset from my settlement. I eventually was forced to sell my home in a down market to pay for the seevices he performed. I am very disappointed I hired Mr Mabie.
