Steven Cripps

I hired Steve Cripps to handle my divorce and subsequent time-sharing/child support modifications. He has been fair, reasonable and very gracious in what he charged for legal services. He is also patient, clearly explaining the processes, including what my expectations should and should not be. Mr. Cripps was my hero! After two years of a trying on my own to file and figure out the very complicated situation of an out of state for many years father, a missed court date and only days prior to the final hearing, I contacted Mr. Cripps out of fear and confusion. He met with me within hours th...at night after my work, at NO CHARGE; he quickly understood my situation and had an instant plan of action. The day of the final hearing, he met me at the court house, he had many details about the other party that I would have never found out that really helped. During the hearing, he was able to negotiate and calm down a very stressful situation so we all agreed on the best situation for our family moving forward. If it wasn't for Mr. Cripps, I know my situation would be very different and I will never be able to thank him enough for how he helped me and my child! Mr. Cripps provided exceptional service to me initially during a dispute over child support payments when my son moved into his father's residence to attend a better school. He then represented me during a very difficult time in my life during a divorce a few years later. He was recommended to me b...y a colleague, and I could not have had better representation during both of these challenging times. I have referred him to others, as I feel his service was superb and his fees were very reasonable.

Mr. Cripps advertises as a flat fee attorney . This is so he can justify, in his own mind, doing the bare minimum of work to benefit his client . Mr. Cripps encouraged me to settle for the standard visitation agreement for fathers. This is equivalent to four to six days a month. Mr. Cripps advised m...e to pay child support based on this visitation schedule . My ex wife and her attorney loved Mr. Crips. He was willing to concede to her every demand. I finally hired a different attorney. For the past two years I have had my children every Friday , Saturday , and Sunday . Also I have not paid any child support because with a holiday schedule I have had 50% of the visitation . The divorce is not finalized but I have a good chance of having 50% shared parental responsibility with minimal support going to the ex which would never get spent on the children. Mr. Cripps does not return calls, keep appointments, or demonstrate professionalism in any shape or form. He is very good at endorsing and cashing retainer checks.
