Paul Miles Cowan

Working with Paul Cowan and his team was the worst experience ever. I hired him for my father's probate case and took 3 years and a half until he decided to close the case. He charged me for things he didn't do, he charged me for things twice, and never returned phone calls or emails. He has no manne...rs, and disrespectful. He didn't do the paperwork on time as my homestead which resulted in an increase in my mortgage. We also had paperwork done that took almost two years to deliver. Him and his team are completely out of ethic. I would never recommend him for any matter.

Mr. Cowan is working on an Estate in my family is involved. I can only rate him on his lack of responsiveness and information. I would need some of that to have an idea if he has any knowledge of his subject or if he is personally trustworthy. What I can say is that he has no interest in listening to... the facts. His lack of action will force us into a lawsuit and allow him to collect fees on an Estate that otherwise was nearly complete.

My late mother hired Mr. Cowan to handle her Trust and has continued to administer it for years since her passing. We also used Mr. Cowan to open an Estate for my Mother, he helped ease the process. We are very happy with his work as well as his associates including the paralegal team they have. W...e have found it very easy to get information when we have needed it. I would recomend Mr. Cowan to anyone that may need an atorney that specializes in Probate litigation.

I recommend that no one ever consider hiring this lawyer. The way he has treated my family is beyond the pale, to the point where I wrote to the Florida Bar. My family (Canadian) hired him to complete the estate work of my late aunt who was a Florida citizen. What a nightmare trying to deal with hi...m as a Personal Administrator of the Estate...outright lies, deliberate misrepresentation of the facts are just starters. He refuses to provide any statements for monies we paid him, to provide copies of documentation as promised, to respond to emails, letters and phone calls for over a year, misses court deadlines, and knows not a single thing about our case to the point where we had to do the work ourselves. He told us one thing, even in writing and then told The Florida Bar investigator a totally different thing...literally pages of inconsistencies in his reporting to the Bar. We had to read his twisted response to the Bar about our complaint and issues to get some of the facts we should have had a year or more ago about the status of our Estate. Hoping that The Florida Bar would force him to communicate with us and give us the documentation and information we need and to get on with doing the job he was taking 1/3 of the estate to handle, instead, the Florida Bar felt the 'communication' from him was acceptable and when we appealed their decision, he withdrew from the file and we are left with no documents, no information as to what he has and has not done and he has our disbursement fund, the amount left unknown because he would not provide statements of disbursements. He should be disbarred.

Mr. Cowen was referred to me by a mutual (attorney) friend. He agreed to take my case for a fixed fee. He has since changed his mind. He has not responded to numerous emails, phone calls and letters. Most recently, he called a fee hearing with the case judge and subsequently canceled it AFTER I fl...ew to Miami, rented a car and checked into a hotel!!!! He continues to hold my widowed mother's estate hostage to his fee dispute! Unethical!*?
