Robert Francis Kohlman

Reading all these other reviews, I feel like I must be delusional. I had a different experience. I hired Mr. Kohlman to write a prenup. Before hiring, he verbally promised me that we'd be returned part of the retainer for sure if my fiancee was as uncontentious about the agreement as I claimed she...'d be. I followed my side of the bargain: my fiancee, after we found representation for her later, insisted w/ her attorney that she not fight for more on the prenup. Thus, Mr. Kohlman's prenup required pretty much no alterations besides what he needed to alter simply bc the first draft wasnt polished completely yet. We kept our side of the bargain, and reminded him of that, yet he sent *ME a bill saying I owed more!!!???? Another part of the deal was that we were trying to get married before the end of the year for tax purposes. Mr. Kohlman was extremely unresponsive throughout the entire drafting process; it quickly became clear that he was only responsive before we paid him, not after. I almost spent more time trying to call him and email him than he spent on the agreement. He probably responded to about 10% of my attempts to contact him. It was terribly exasperating. In the end, the bill he sent us included 3X more time billed for simply talking w/ opposing counsel than the opposing counsel (representing my fiancee) billed us for talking to him AND reviewing the agreement first AND discussing aspects w/ my fiancee. The final agreement is probably fine, but the entire experience was terrible, and I'm left wanting to sue him for malpractice.

We retained Mr. Kohlman for a Petition for Modification of Child Support and to address MSA issues. We were required to wire him his retainer (didn't accept credit cards). This was in April 2020. As of the end of June 2020 there was - in addition to Mr. Kohlman going missing for over a month - no pro...duction and no responses to my request for a refund of our retainer. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Bar and have filed a claim with the Clients' Security Fund. I would give Mr. Kohlman zero stars if this site allowed it.

Robert represented me in my divorce and is now helping me 5 years later to address post divorce issues. Having not experienced divorce previously, Robert was great in helping me understand and navigate the divorce process. During most of the divorce, I was working internationally in distant time zone...s. Robert was always flexible in arranging calls to accommodate the 12 hour time zone difference. He was always organized, efficient and professional at all times. Robert is a very client focused attorney that always makes you feel like you are his most important client.

Robert handled my divorce very professionally. Every step was well done and I felt from the start he would do everything according to Florida law and make sure there were no loop holes. My husband's lawyer tried to make things difficult for me, however Robert was there to protect me at all times, f...or which I am most grateful. Robert always kept me abreast of all the correspondence he had with my husband's lawyer. Within three months the divorce was finalized! In the future should I learn of someone needing an excellent lawyer, I would not hesitate to recommend him.
