I got busted for my 2nd dui and decided to hire James Phillips. It turned out to be one the best decisions of my life. He was highly recommended to me as one of the best lawyers in the area. The whole court process took a little bit but James kept telling me that the longer this thing went on the better it was for me. He also stated that although he couldn't promise me an outcome he would fight for me to the very end. At the time I didn't realize how true he was to his word. He did fight for me, twice. After a grueling week long trial process we waited almost a day and a half of deliberation only to have the jury come back as a hung jury. A mistrial. I was devastated. I just wanted this thing to be over with. James comforted me the entire time telling me that sometimes these things happen and he would gladly fight this thing again. He never asked for any additional fees or anything. About a month later we went through the whole week long trial again and this time the jury came back with a 'not guilty' verdict! I almost hit the floor when it was read. I am now able to move on with my life and finally finish my schooling. No matter what the outcome was going to be it was never going to change this review. I never had a lawyer, I was looking for one so that I can start my law suit. I could of did it before but I didn't know. People were telling me that it was to late,so I didn't try. I was just wondering if you would like to help me with this case. I was in a car accident with a police officer. I don't know if he crash into the truck or the trucked crash into us. Earlier this year I ran into some legal trouble concerning a felony charge. Being a respected business person in Orlando I was devastated thinking my career and good name were over. I was charged with my 2nd DUI in 5 years. I was ready to fight and go through a trial if I had to. It all happened before I moved away from the state, James told me I was ok to go and proceed with my life as usual, for he would go to court for me. I flew down for the trial, where he walked me through picking jurors for my trial and I was very happy with our decision. All started with the worst night of my life, I was speeding after going out of a club (stupid on my part) and a police officer pulled me over. Of course that he noticed the club wrist band on my hand, and immediately asked me to step out of the car to perform sobriety tests. After a couple of minutes and several exercises, I was put under arrest for DUI and reckless driving. I had the unfortunate incident of getting a DUI, and another charge. I have never been in trouble, with the law, in my life! I was scared, and I (personally) felt like the circumstances surrounding my arrest were wrong and unjustified! I hired an attorney,prior to Mr. Phillips, because I did not want to accept the diversion plan that was offered to me. This attorney knew from day one that I was not interested in the diversion program, and that I planned to take it to trial if I had to. Needless to say, he called me at 8:30 at night and told me that I should go and sign the contract for the diversion program, in the morning. I lost all faith in him! After going to his office to meet him face to face, and speaking with him again, I knew for sure that he was the man that I wanted defending me! AND....Boy did he!!! He was, absolutely, incredible!!! He listened to what I had to say and, most importantly, he fought hard for me! He got both of my charges dropped before we ever went to court!!! I couldn't be more thrilled, and couldn't have asked for a better outcome!!! Mr. Phillips is highly skilled and on top of his game! I will never be naive enough,again, to believe that ANY encounter with law enforcement is casual or innocent!
