About me

Leonard Cabral is a consumer’s attorney and advocate who represents tenants.  Tenants are consumers of housing and many of the consumer protection law apply to tenants; I know how to apply them.  I help tenants get their security deposit returned to them.  If you have been wrongfully evicted or locked out of your rental home or the landlord turned off your utilities I am the lawyer you want to fight for your rights.   I defend tenants in evictions including Section 8 and subsidized housing. I am one of a very few lawyers in the Orlando area that knows HUD regulations pertaining to subsidized and public housing.  If you have been injured due to landlord's negligence I can handle  your  personal injury suit against your landlord.  I also represent tenants with disabilities. If your landlord denied you to have a service animal or refuses to allow modifications to your rental home  I can help you get the accommodation. you need. In addition to tenant defense Mr. Cabral does consumer cases including defending your debt collection case; correcting inaccurate information on your credit report;  stopping debt collector harassing you with unwanted calls to your cell phone.  If your rental application was denied you are entitle  to know why  it was denied and an opportunity to correct any inaccurate information.  If your auto was wrongfully towed or your auto was repossessed I may be able to help you.    If you are a Tenant you probably don't know the consumer protection laws protect tenants too. I apply my knowledge of consumer law to tenant issues. If your landlord wrongfully reported you to a collection agency and the collection agency makes calls to your cell phone  or makes harassing  phone calls I can get the calls to stop.   If you former landlord reported you to a credit reporting agency I am the attorney your want to help you. I do not represent landlords and I eat Slumlords for breakfast.

  • John J. Mannion Jr.

I have known Leonard for many years through the local bar association. He gave me once a very detailed and thorough explanation regarding major issues with foreclosure and the "robo-signing" of mortgages. I was prosecuting at the time so was not nearly as familiar with the civil side as I was the criminal side. Because of his vast understanding of this field and his willingness to share with his colleagues, I endorse this lawyer.
