Biography
I am a married mother of one grown son. I grew up in a large family, married a Navy man and spent approximately 10 years working various jobs while my husband was transferred throughout the country. In 1992, we settled in Jacksonville and I returned to college to get a degree in legal assisting. Following graduation I took and passed a national test to become a certified legal assistant and began work at Foley and Lardner. In December of 1997, I began my employment with Slott, Barker & Nussbaum . I was able to attend law school in the evenings while working full time as legal assistant. I am currently an associate with Bowers and Associates, P.A. where I concentrate my practice in Probate, Guardianship, Estate Planning, Long Term Care Planning, Business and Real estate.
I am an active member of the Christian Legal Society and participate in their program to provide legal services to the disadvantaged living at the City Rescue Mission. I also work through Jacksonville Area Legal Aid as an expert resource attorney during their probate or advance directive clinics, reference attorney for young lawyers and attorney of record for some probono clients.
On a personal note, I am an avid reader, gardener and animal lover.
