She Accepted Our Settlement Without Us - then HID it.

We were rear-ended by a drunk driver while stopped at a red light. We deeply regret hiring Megan Elizabeth Richards. Who matched us with her? It is a fact, that she accepted our settlement on 01/22/2025 and received our settlement checks on 01/23/2025. She asked us if we wanted to settle on 01/2...7/2025 (via text) only after we called her. We terminated her on 04/10/2025 for not settling our cases. We didn’t KNOW the claim was settled by her for months. After we fired her, we were told that another lawyer had taken over as requested (without a contract or retainer). That was impossible, we were gullible. *She did not send in a drop letter/termination letter to any insurance company related to our case until 07/07/2025 She continued working on our case after we fired her. She was stalling and submitting previously paid bills to PIP. Allegedly to waste time while we were pending eviction. We sent a letter saying we were firing them all on 05/30/2025, still not knowing the case was settled. She responded by telling me that she understood that she was terminated by me but that she now needed another termination letter from my husband. It was then that I realized even though she sent us our case files zipped up and labeled with each one of our names, we only had my case files. It was two sets of only my case files. She did not acknowledge his termination until 08/08/2025. Despite the fact that we have the email where she acknowledged her termination and said that she was reassigning us to another lawyer. She returned our checks on 07/07/2025. Then to top it off, Progressive paid her without a lien. The termination letter doesn’t have her name on it. Progressive paid a terminated lawyer the fee that she asked for even though they are not supposed to do that. A terminated lawyer is supposed to either file a lien or if pre-litigation, file for quantum meruit. Since it was pre-lit, she was supposed to file for quantum meruit which means she would get paid for the work that she did. She did not want to do that. How should a lawyer get paid after accepting and then concealing a settlement while their clients suffered financially and were in the process of getting evicted. Just to note: On 07/26/2025 when we reported to ACAP, who is the consumer part of Florida Bar, that we needed a termination letter in order to work with insurance companies on our own they took no action. Normally, once ACAP reaches out to an attorney for something as small as a termination/drop letter, it is issued within 24-48 hours. She refused to send the termination letter even then and instead asked for an extension. She emailed my husband and said “Audra” granted me an extension. This is actually unheard of. The complaint which detailed these things was ultimately dismissed on 11/22/2025 by ACAP and no termination letter issued. They said that the proof attached was insufficient, even though it was comprised of her own emails which confirmed everything we said. Regarding our vehicle. Progressive took 23 days to accept liability and she stood idly by. She did not try to get us a rental car or file loss of use for us. When we requested the insurance policy, they sent it to her but she never passed it on to us. Strange things happening on my phone - can’t prove it’s her So, I get hacked by a”hacker”who is currently still on my phone. This hacker isn’t interested in stealing my credit card numbers. Oh no, this hacker is interested in rearranging my photos, making her emails disappear. My back up iCloud email was deleted from my phone before the 2nd deletion of only her emails (I had to get Gmail to recover her emails twice). She knows a legal malpractice case is in the way. A Black guy on a skinny green motorcycle wearing a CLOWN mask blocked my exit from a parking lot for no reason. He just stared. I received a clown photo earlier that day with a homemade song called RUN. OK!
