John Phillips is the founding partner of a multi-state trial law firm, formed in 2011. Recognized by peers as a prominent Florida, New York, Georgia, Texas, Alabama and Washington, DC licensed trial lawyer, he is a passionate and compassionate crusader for justice.
You can read more about him in the following articles:
In addition to other types of law (family law, criminal defense and commercial litigation), Mr. Phillips’s office handles personal injury, civil rights and wrongful death cases. His office solely represents plaintiffs who have been injured by automobile wrecks, product defects, because of premises liability and other forms of wrongful conduct or negligence / accidents. He was recently referred to as the "best lawyer in America" by famed lawyer Robert Shapiro.
John has many million dollar verdicts and settlements in cases ranging from soft tissue injuries to brain damage cases. He represented the family of Jordan Davis during their trials and tribulations after the 17 year-old was shot and killed by Michael Dunn, represented over 100 child victims of pediatric dental abuse at the hands of Howard S. Schneider, DDS, and achieved what was called a “landmark victory” in a school bulling case which initially caused a bully to be banned from the school system. He also tried an injury case, resulting in a $2.6 million verdict, while Good Morning America’s cameras rolled.
Just during the last few years, Mr. Phillips and his office have been named as:
Whether commenting on his own high profile cases or cases he is not involved with, Mr. Phillips has spoken nationally on nearly every national media channel and some international channels, including BBC. This includes regular appearances on CNN, HLN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Fox News and more. He is also a regular contributor to print media, as well. He’s been pictured in Rolling Stone Magazine and his cases have been featured in Jet, Time, People and many other periodicals. This story by Joy Ann Reid tells a detailed version of his walk with Jordan Davis’s parents.
Phillips’s experiences led to a TEDx speech, which has amassed over 300,000 views. Additionally, he received a feature by BET online, spotlighting Phillips as a civil rights advocate.
In addition to these and many other distinguished accomplishments in the fields of law and justice, Mr. Phillips’s resume includes a long list of civic contributions and leadership positions. Mr. Phillips spends a significant amount of time serving his community. To that end, he has been named one of the 29 most influential people in Jacksonville. Week in and week out, he can be seen volunteering, coaching children, speaking or working with city and state leaders to improve the quality of life for all.
Family is most important. Mr. Phillips spends most of his time being called “daddy” to his boys, Bennett (age 5), Weston (age 2) and has one on the way. His wife, Angela Phillips, has cooked for clients and been very involved with the firm over the years, including as a rock on days where John’s heart is heavy. The Phillips family can be seen in the documentary film, The Armor of Light, which was produced and directed by Abigail Disney of the famed Disney family. It was shortlisted for the Academy Award consideration in 2016.
