In April of 2015, a girl I had dated for 3 years accused me of raping her. I was arrested and charged with 3 separate felonies because of these accusations. After 3 weeks in jail, I finally received a bond hearing. Thus began nearly 3 years of my case being put on the back burner. During those 3 year...s, I moved to another state, got married, bought a house, started a family... pretty much moved on with my life. The funny thing about problems is that they always come back to get you in the end, and after three years of pretty much not thinking about this case, I received a letter from the ACC Clerk of Courts that I was due in court... IN 2 WEEKS! Needless to say, I was stunned. I hadn't spoken to the Public Defender who was assigned to my case in almost a year! To make matters even worse, when I reached out to my Public Defender, he emailed me to let me know that he had retired the previous August! I was absolutely distraught, had no idea what was going on and had no clue what to do. The Public Defender who was responsible for my case sent another email the next day recommending that in a case as serious as mine, I should seek a criminal defense attorney and he recommended Ryan Swingle and another lawyer. To be perfectly clear, I was looking at 90 years in prison. With the plea deal Ryan negotiated, I received NO jail time and DID NOT have to register as a sex offender. To top it all off, once I complete probation, my record will be sealed and it will be like this nightmare never even happened! That probably gives you an idea of how fantastic Ryan is. But it certainly does not tell you the small things he does to make that big picture come to fruition. Ryan took the time to listen to me, he reviewed all discovery thoroughly, he explained everything and fielded questions from me, my wife, and even my mother-in-law. He kept in constant contact during this experience and was always upfront with me about all possibilities. At the end of the day, this man is professional, he carries himself well, he is beyond intelligent, and he actually CARES about his clients. The old saying goes that "you get what you pay for." With Ryan, you truly do. His fees are equal to the severity of the charges, so in my case, it was a pretty penny. Ryan's services are not cheap, but he earns every single penny you give him. I bet the rest of my life on that, and he delivered. Thank you for everything you did for me, Ryan. You gave me my life back and while I hope I never find myself in a situation to use your services again, you'll always be the first call I make should I ever have to.
