Thomas Richard Mondelli

I hired Thomas back in May of 2014. Paid him $500 to send a letter to the court about a 25 year old misdemeanor in order to get it expunged. I called and emailed him numerous times to get an update on my case. It wasn't until I wrote his managing partner an email, when he finally called me back. ... I basically had to do the research for him to tell him which court to send the letter. That was in December of 2015. I have been trying to contact him by phone, email and through LinkedIn since then. He still has not responded. I am out of state and relied on Thomas to take care of this issue. My next step is to take him to small claims court to try and get my money back. What a hassle. Michael

Tom was very courteous and nice to me. It was my first time with any legal trouble and he acted like my friend. He asked for payment right away, which I expected, but then seemed to never put work into my case. I called him every 4 or 5 days for the month leading up to the court date to get updates. ...There were no updates. A week before my case, he told me he had to be a county over defending an inmate. By that point there was no way I could get a new lawyer. On the day of the case, he was over an hour late, and did absolutely nothing to help my efforts. I happened to watch a young man with the exact same case stand before the judge who hadn't hired a lawyer, and we got the exact same punishment. Tom took my money, which for me was a significant amount, and did nothing worthwhile for me. He embodied the bad things I've heard about lawyers all my life.
