EXTRAORDINARY

Rachel is an outstanding family attorney. She exceeded my expectations during my divorce. She always returned my calls or emails in a timely manner. She’s extremely organized, personable and knows the law. She provided balanced counsel throughout the entire divorce process and always made sure o...ur kids were the most important people the entire time. She recommended mediation and overall the divorce was amicable. Best Family Attorney in Atlanta.

Couldn't ask for better representation!

At one of the most difficult times in my life I was fortunate enough to come across stellar reviews about Rachel. With some hesitation I made an inquiry to her and was blown awake by her candid yet timely response. She was very direct and to the point... But I wasn't quite sure I was ready to face th...e reality of divorce. Months later, with a newborn baby, I contacted Rachel for representation and I'm so glad I did. Though I bought a unique situation to her and practice, they worked collaboratively and were able to assist me in achieving a swift agreement, dissolving my bigamous marriage. It was by far the most outlandish situation I had ever been involved in and Rachel made the process easy and as painless as possible. She genuinely cared and didn't make me feel as though I was a nuisance which I'm sure I had become... We were able to get to mediation and dissolve my marriage in about 45 days. Rachel listened to what I was asking for though she may have had apprehensive, we were able to walk out of mediation with great relief. I will likely need to use Rachel again as issues with my previously dissolved marriage may linger but I'm fortunate enough to have found an amazing attorney.

Rachel is AWESOME!

Rachel was my divorce attorney. I have two children and feared a complicated split from my husband. We had recently moved to GA when we decided to separate and had to wait six months before we could file. She was there to handle issues that arose during the interim period and handled everything once ...we did file. She put my mind at ease by explaining the laws and how things would play out. During mediation she stopped me before I agreed to things that I hadn't thought through thoroughly. She was also there for me as a person and was warm and compassionate! I definitely felt like she genuinely cared for my (and my children's) well being! I'm hoping I never need her services again but if I do, she's the only one I would go to!

Sharp. Smart. Fearless.

Rachel is one sharp cookie! She's smart, well-versed in GA law and fought relentlessly for my case. Although I didn't get the "most" desired results from mediation, I have no doubt that Rachel was completely "for me". Her fearless approach is unmatched and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to ...work with her.

Rachel Elovitz- need 10 more like her

I had a very complicated out of state custody battle going on. I live in California and my 11 year- old son lives in Georgia. We relocated to California from Georgia in Sep. of 2011 for a job promotion. My ex-husband filed an emergency hearing in GA and the judge ordered my son back to Atlanta. This ...was obviously devastating and shocking since I had been the full custodial parent for 8 years. My lawyer (prior to Rachel) held hearings without informing me, charged me for things I did not know about and demanded immediate payment. I was so lost on what my rights were since it was two states, it was exhausting with all the money and time being spent. I was in jeopardy of not getting a custody agreement in place. By the time I hired Rachel in August of 2012, I really needed solid legal advice. I was being court ordered to mediation and I had no representation. I had a week’s timeframe to get a new lawyer up to speed on my ongoing case. Rachel was going out of town on vacation but said if I hired her she would make herself available on vacation to deal with my case. I hired her immediately. A lawyer available on vacation? I’ve had 5 lawyers who were never available even when they weren’t on vacation. I flew to Atlanta for the mediation hearing and it ended poorly because of my ex-husband. He left the mediation early after I’d flown across the country for it and I was very upset. I think I may have run out of the mediation hearing after I realized we were not even close to an agreement. Rachel walked beside me to my car and explained a few of the next steps but also encouraged me to try to talk to my ex-husband. This was quite a different approach as lawyers usually work to separate the two parties. With her guidance I decided to talk again to my ex-husband and we actually came to agreement on several terms. I would have never attempted that without her guidance. I really felt with Rachel I was driving all the decisions and she was standing beside me trying to help me accomplish what I needed to get done. She answered all my phone calls, emails etc. in a timely manner. She communicated with the opposing counsel in a timely manner. She kept me up to date on all my billing and never overbilled. I never worried if I talked to her for 5 minutes that I was going to see a $100 charge. Right before we had our final settlement agreement, Rachel found one more mistake that opposing counsel had slid in at the last moment. She seemed to know my case better than me at times and she was first to point out injustices and claim little victories for me. She was really on my side, in my corner and really advocated for me in a way I never thought was possible for a lawyer. At first I thought it was because Rachel is a woman that she understands my case better. But I don’t think that’s it, I think she truly has a passion for what she does and she cares. There were several nights when I’d get emails from Rachel at 11p or later with her explaining that she’d been in court for the day and was just now going through emails. In the end, I have an agreement that I am very happy with, I’m getting along with my ex-husband, my child is happier as he’s not being pulled in different directions. Also, she’s restored my faith in the legal system. I had worked with so many different lawyers prior to her where I was just a number, mainly a check number. Rachel is a very unique lawyer, I recommend her 100% and I can pretty much guarantee you will not get her level of service out of any other lawyer.

"I have had the great pleasure of working with Rachel both as an opposing counsel in a complex custody case and as a brain trust in other cases. Lawyers like Rachel are, unfortunately, few and far between. While advocating zealously and tirelessly for her clients, Rachel maintains the utmost integrity, professionalism, and ethical norms. There are very few lawyers to whom I would entrust the representation of my family members, friends, or myself, and Rachel is on the top of that short list."

"I had the pleasure of working on a recent matter with Rachel Elovitz and I can say without a doubt that she is one of the most professional and hard working attorneys I have met in my career. Now that we are no longer on opposing sides, I would not hesitate to contact Rachel to discuss strategies in my cases. She brings unique insight and has more compassion than a majority of attorneys in practice. Without exaggeration I can say that if more attorneys were like Rachel the public would view lawyers differently. She is a credit to her clients and the profession as a whole."

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
