I was caught somewhat unprepared when my wife told me she was filing for divorce. I was then made aware of Calina and was able to contact and have a consultation with her. She immediately put my mind at ease and I'm so grateful I hired her. She and her team where very communicative and helped me unde...rstand what was happening in the process all along the way. I cannot recommend Calina enough if you find yourself in the position of needing a divorce attorney.

Hiring Calina was one of the best decisions we have made. We hired her to help our family with a custody case involving grandparents rights. Calina stays on top up upcoming legislation and there was an Equitable Caregiver law coming that would impact my case greatly. Calina set us up for success e...arly to ensure that we won that equitable caregiver status. This allowed us to prove that we were the better home because I held equal standing based on the fact that I had been caring for the child for years with no input from the mother. This case went on a long time (a couple of years) and saw the COVID outbreak which caused many delays. I never felt that I wasn't a top priority for Calina even though I knew she had many other cases at the same time. She had to deal with opposing counsel and a Guardian ad litem. She was able to successfully anticipate what we would need to prepare for, what documents to pull or put together, she guided me on what notes to keep as we went through the process. She prepared us for court, we knew what to expect and were better able to keep composure when we would listen to things brought about from opposing counsel. She prepared for every contingency that may arise in the hearings. Her materials were plentiful and organized in a way that she could point to exhibits and documents at a moment's notice. I could not have asked for better representation, she brought everything in her power to the table for my family. Compassionate - Calina knew that this was a very anxious time for my entire family. We must have flooded her inbox with more than a thousand emails over the course of this case. She was able to remain calm when we weren't, she was able to objectively explain what was happening in a way that was calming. When fighting for a child, it is easy to panic and want it over, Calina was able to understand what we were going through and provide context for all the waiting. In the end, waiting was the best option. She listened to me cry, complain, and show my frustration. But I never once felt that she thought any less of me, there was a connection, that she fostered, that let me feel safe in such a whirlwind of chaos. We eventually won, I remember the day that she called me, I was so shaky that I actually hung up on her. She called me back and let me process. We won sole physical and legal custody because Calina knew her way around the law and what to do in any eventuality. She is who you want on your team. Fast forward, a need arose where we needed to file contempt charges. Calina again prepared us for that and quickly. Things were moving so fast; Calina was on top of it. Again, doing her research, advising us on what we needed to be doing (mainly be patient) She handled it. We retain Calina because she is the best and we always want her on our side. If you find yourself in a position to require someone like Calina, first, I am so sorry. However, you will also find that you want Calina in your corner as much as I do.

I have used Calina Plotky for both my divorce and then a second time for my child custody case. She did an excellent job on both cases. She was always well prepared and ready when we went to court. I got what I wanted in both cases and it was due to her representation. I hope that I never will be in ...any situation where I need to hire her again. But if I do, I wouldn’t think twice about hiring her again.
