The best attorney in Atlanta

I am grateful for Mr. Hewitt's relentless effort and dedication for my case. It was a lengthy and startling process and I could have never thought that anyone would stay by my side and work so hard for so long, but he was generous regarding it. Mr. Hewitt helped me through an important matter of my l...ife. His invincible skill and dominance as a prominent and noteworthy lawyer was acknowledged and respected by all parties involved, and made all the difference in the conclusion of the case. Thanks for the time you spent working on the case and the much needed attention and sincere advice, Mr. Hewitt. Additionally, I thank his legal team for tirelessly working along with him.

Top Notch Adversary - Review from an Opponent

Mel Hewitt is a fine and capable attorney, as well as a gentleman and a true professional. He gives lawyers a good name. I have litigated against Mel on a number of occasions and have always found him to be a zealous advocate for his clients who fights hard but also fights fair. He is top notch an...d one of the best at what he does.

I was a victim of a sexual assault case committed by a police officer

I tried several attorneys and they turn me down. They said it would be impossible to win this case based on the circumstances. In other words, they said that I asked for it. No woman asks to be cornered by a police officer with a gun and made to do the things he demanded. I prayed. I think that... I wrote every agency there was all the way up to the white house for some kind of justice. I followed up on one the letters that I sent to the white house and the chief of staff over violence against women answered her phone. I told her my story and she told me that no means no and referred me to her friend in Orlando who recommended me to Mr. Melvin Hewitt Jr. He was so kind and everyone in his office. They continued to tell me that it was not my fault. no means no. This was during a tough time for rape victims during the bad scandal that took place at Duke university and the strippers. Needless to say, Mr. Hewitt hung in there with me and I was not given in to the mean looks and the threats. I was depressed and diagnosed with a terminal illness. I wanted to take matters into my own hands and God sent Mr. Hewitt into my life because I could have gotten into a lot of trouble or killed. To shorten up the story, he was able to get a settlement out of these people who tried to just sweep this incident under the rug. It wasn't just about the money. It was more about healing and the settlement is an admittance that they were wrong. I am a stronger Christian today. Man does not predict when I am going to leave this earth only God does. Even Mr. Hewitt said the same thing. I am doing well and going strong after almost 14 years of being diagnosed with 2 blockages in my brain and a stroke witch they final have a name for it, moyamoya disease. I even call him to this day for advice and he is the greatest and has never ignored my phone call. I would recommend him to anyone that needs help. He is one of a kind and truly trustworthy, knowledgeable and always kept me informed. In fact I think this was the fastest case that i have ever seen with all the circumstances to settle so fast. Thank you so much Mr. Hewitt and your firm

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"All too often these days it seems that opposing counsel do not get along very well. Not so with Mel. My experience in representing clients opposite from Mel's clients is that he always retains a friendly, professional demeanor without losing his ability to skillfully and ably represent his clients' best interests. More lawyers should be like Mel."
