AFTER BEING PAID $25 THOUSAND,THIS LAWYER MISAPPROPRIATED MY SONS FUNDS BY COMMINGLING HIS FUNDS, FAILING TO KEEP RECORDS, NEGLECTING LEGAL MATTERS, UNRESPONSIVE TO CORRESPONDENCE, QUESTIONS/REQUESTS FOR MONTHS AT A TIME. We were desperate to find help for my husband, sitting in Georgia Prison with a 20 year sentence. After several post conviction attorney disasters, we were fortunate enough to find Mark. The plan worked, the sentence was modified, as soon as the Parole Board received the modified sentence, they re-calculated eligibility, my husband was immediately parole eligible and given parole, then an interstate compact was completed and 90 days after the successful sentence modification, I picked up my husband released on parole and headed home to Florida in June of 2018. We went from desperate and depressed, to cautiously optimistic, to wildly ecstatic on that June morning in 2018. Mark was methodical, thorough, and careful in planning, then influential and persuasive with the district attorney in a unique circumstance. Mark was able to communicate the right message for the results that are the beginning of the correction of a travesty of justice. I was wrongfully convicted in 2008 and in 2017 even I hired Mark for post conviction relief. When everyone told me it could not be done, Mark mad it happen and 2018 my conviction was vacated and resolved justly. I hired mr yurachek to handle a federal civil appeal in the 4th circuit. There were many issues with his representation. I was told he had an office in VA when he was based in GA. As a result after paying him $5000 for a time sensitive appeal, I never could meet him. He also had no experience with ci...vil appeals at the time he took my case. Until recently, when I checked my case was the only federal civil appeal he has done. He told me he had ample experience in doing federal civil appeals at the time he took the case. Subsequently he threatened to sue me in Fulton County, Georgia for a printer's bill of $500 with a request for a Jury trial. Under GA law that is possible. I paid the money even though the bill could have been challenged. I plan on taking action against this attorney.

We initially hired Mark to review my son's 4 Armed Robbery convictions (4 life sentences) to see if anything could be done. He took about 6 months to review the case and then met with my ex-husband and me to explain that he did think there were issues he could use to argue for my son getting a new tr...ial through a habeas corpus petition. We agreed on a fee, he filed the petition, got the case before a judge and won! My son was allowed to enter a plea and went from 4 consecutive life sentences to 15 years. I am so thankful because I now know my boy will be free in my lifetime. The habeas process took almost 2 years from start to finish but Mark was always available to discuss where we were in the process and what he expected next. He provided my son and me with copies of everything he filed and was very honest and up front about what to expect every step of the way. He never b.s.'d us about anything. Shortly after we hired him to handle my son's case, my sister hired him to handle an appeal for my nephew in a Federal Court in another state. She has also been impressed with how plain spoken he is, his availability any time she needs to talk and how good a writer he is on his legal briefs. We are hopeful that he will do as well by my nephew as he did by my son. I was especially thankful that Mark's fee arrangements worked for my family. My ex and I are both professionals, but do not have money to throw at lost causes. Mark charged a fee to review my son's case and determine whether there was anything "worth our money" to take to court before we committed a large sum to the case. Many other lawyers who we spoke to ask for 4 or 5 times what he charged us total just to look at the case and I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job than Mark did. He is a conscientious and brilliant lawyer and I suggest anybody whose family is going through the post-conviction process consider speaking with him before any other lawyer because in my opinion, he is the best!
