Don Not Hire This Attorney

I hired AC to represent me as a federal employee in a discrimination lawsuit against a federal agency. I was impressed at our consultation meeting during which he said I had a very strong winnable case, which I did. I gave him all the documentation he needed to prove multiple violations of merit pro...motion process and patterns of hiring certain gender and race groups over other more extensively qualified, experienced, educated, and professionally certified. Assuming I didn't even have a case he still is not someone you want to hire. Only his staff contacted me after the consultation and within a year charged me $15,000 for nothing but administrative BS. There was no legal strategy, etc. discussions with Mr. Conti at all. He once called me to know if I needed him to be on the phone with the contractor hired by the EEO Office to conduct their investigation and I told him no, I had experience and didn't need him. Despite this, he called me minutes before the scheduled call and had the contractor on the phone so it was kind of hard for me to avoid and he sat there for an hour on the phone listening to the conversation, he said absolutely nothing, hung up when the call ended and then charged me his $450 an hour fee for NOTHING. He never consolidated my EEO cases like he said he would and even had his paralegal contact me and ask me who I wanted to call as witnesses in the EEO hearing without talking to me or even telling me what kind of witnesses I should call and what they should be able to testify to. He's the attorney but doesn't even bother to consult with me about what witnesses I should call - major red flag. There was absolutely no point in hiring this firm; they did nothing but bill me until I fired them

I believe he’s bought out by the government! DO NOT even talk to him!

I hired him for my discrimination law suit against a government organization after he reassured me that I had a ‘very strong case’ based on all the written evidence I shared with him. I also thought my case was strong and it was! I provided him with all the evidence, prepared different files with sup...porting evidence to be used when asked certain questions I anticipated coming from the government attorney. When those questions were asked, he did not show the evidence and did not respond at all. I was sitting next to him and referring him to the evidence files in front of him, even telling which one it was. He simply stayed quiet and passed a note to me that I should stay quiet and that he would make his defense speech at the end. Unfortunately, I listened to him, he didn’t make ANY defense speech at any time, and I lost the case, my reputation, etc. The bullying by my supervisors got intensified after their victory and I had to leave my job even though I was very good at it -to a degree that I was getting awards from Washington while my supervisors continued insulting me that I had no skills! They also continued to take disciplinary actions against me so they could fulfill the requirements to be able to fire me. Can you believe that I was disciplined for making gestures and ‘using my hands’ while I spoke?BTW, I am from a Mediterranean country and we speak with our hands. Also, I happened to have a Masters’ degree and a medical PhD, plus 15 yrs. of experience in the field. If I were defending myself in this case, I could have won as I could provide all the evidence and make all the necessary arguments logically. He charged me dearly, and I still owed him $10K after the case and I refused to pay. He accepted my refusal. Probably, he got paid plenty by the government for staying quiet and losing my case, so it didn’t matter to him whether I paid the remainder or not. If you want to win your case, STAY AWAY from him and his law firm! I wish I could give him Zero star, but that’s not an option here.

Unapproachable

I spent nearly three weeks trying to reach AJC instead I constantly spoke with his paralegal D.P. I submitted documents, my hard work and patience to only be told the attorneys work load could not accept me as a client. I was devastated and under a time restraint. Now having to begin the process A...LL OVER. In hindsight this was probably a blessing.

RUN FAST...

I had a consultation with Conti, during which he told me I had a strong case. After the first meeting, he was never available which struck me as odd. His office staff (assistants and paralegals) seemed to always have a reason why he wasn't available which conveniently made it possible for me to talk ...with an assistant. Conti never showed up at a hearing and his assistant and paralegal drafted letters and made appearances at hearings. The staff consistently provided an excuse why Conti couldn't make an appearance at hearings, and they told me as the case evolved he would be available. His staff would often tell me the assistant was in consult with Conti and not to worry. None of it made sense. There should be an ethical issue if I paid for Conti to represent me and he outsourced my case to his assistant. The assistant showed up at the hearing. I was told that the presiding Administrative Judge didn't like Conti, so the assistant represented me. Again, all of this behavior was bizarre but I remained optimistic. I paid handsomely for each consultation and provided supporting documentation for my case against my employer. During a hearing the assistant failed to question my employer about allegations made against me, and I raised the matter with the assistant, then the assistant attempted to address the matter and the AJ told the assistant that the proceedings in that setting was beyond objection and he should have acted sooner. Disappointed all the way around that there was a missed opportunity to counter allegations that were falsely made. At that point my instincts were Conti and staff didn't have my best interest nor were they representing me to WIN. Disappointed in the way my case was handled.

Run...don't walk away from Conti

For starters, my initial phone consultation lasted three hours EXACTLY. Conti explained his fees, and requested I go into great detail about irrelevant issues. Conti then promptly billed my credit card. Over the course of two years, Conti billed me for everything at his attorney rate, even though ass...istants and para legals were making the copies, drafting letters, and motions. I was also outraged by his $5,000 round number policy for each deposition. Even though I requested to see the questions he was going to ask at the depositions, my simple request was refused. Needless to say, I lost the case after spending $60,000, even though the government admitted to wrong doing. However, Conti initially assured me I had a "strong" case. I strongly suspect Conti is a government shill attorney given his track record of being disciplined by the Georgia Bar.

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
