Hired to represent my brother in a robbery case. False promises, terrible communication, and found out that he was let go from firm. Will promise the world and sells himself appropriately, but underdelivers. Extremely poor communication skills! John assured my family that his client would be well represented, but that was not the case. Do not be fooled! Do not hire!

Hired for divorce case in 2012 that involved custody of a 1 1/2 year old. Although prompt with returning phone calls his performance was very disappointing. I provided proof of the ex's drug use and compromising my sons safety. Pretrial comes and I'm told that the judge agreed to all terms provided by my ex's attorney which basically ended up allowing joint physical and joint legal custody. Duncan's response was " it's just a pretrial." I was so shocked and let him know I was dismayed especially with the evidence I provided. I questioned if he submitted all of my evidence and again he repeated " it's just a pretrial." I ended up seeking different representation right after the pretrial. Needless to say my new attorney resubmitted the custody agreement and visits were changed to supervised which later ended up not allowing any visits with the ex.

After having a minor incident in the parking lot of a gas station, I was charged with leaving the scene. I never denied anything, I was completely honest. I talked to Mr. Duncan and he sold himself quite well. He had me completely convinced that everything would be ok. The reason I hired a lawyer, was that it was imperative that I didn't lose my CDL. Everything started off as decent as could be expected. One day, I called his office to talk to him, after not hearing from him for months. It was only to find out that he was no longer with that firm. I think that this is pretty important information, yet I was not notified of this change. Several months go by, as I'm leaving messages for him to contact me and I stopped by his new office location. When I went to his new office location, the receptionist informed me that he's very rarely, if ever, there in the office. I tried emailing him & the receptionist sent messages to him on my behalf - after many times of seeing me, she asked I do not come up there anymore. So, communication is problematic with Mr. Duncan, to put it very mildly! ... He finally calls me one day (he must have grown tired of my relentless pursuit) and describes a plea deal that he had worked out. I agreed to the terms of this agreement. However, the next day, court day, everything changed! Everything he'd assured me of just the day before, was not what happened at all. I wonder if I'd been better off, or in the same situation, not even having a lawyer. The ruling I received seemed as harsh as though I hadn't had representation (apparently, I really didn't have an attorney fighting for me that day at all). This was my first offense, and they knew suspending my CDL (for a year no less) would cost me my job. Mr. Duncan, with his lack of representation, cost me my livelihood. I do NOT recommend this lawyer to anyone! *If the guidelines are clear on this type of case and this was the only outcome, he could have been upfront with me from the beginning. But no, he was very convincing that everything would work out in my favor. Waste of time & huge waste of money! I'm sure after reading this review, Mr. Duncan will find time in his hectic schedule to offer his rebuttal or denial of everything I've said. But I assure you, everything I have said is completely true. God bless & take care.

I hired John to represent me after I received a ticket for "failure to yield to a funeral procession." John was very kind and knowledgeable about all things law. Not only was he highly professional, but he was easy to talk to and took my opinion into account. He dealt with this matter in a timely manner and kept me up to date every step of the way. I would most definitely recommend John to a friend and would hire him again!

John Duncan is an outstanding attorney to work with! My ex husband and I went to him for help with our divorce. From our first contact, I felt at ease with him; he was empathetic and kind. He explained everything very clearly, answered all of our questions and helped us with each step of the process. John was very prompt in returning phone calls or emails and was completely flexible in finding convenient meeting times. I feel confident that everything he did represented our best interest; he was extremely knowledgeable about laws and procedures for all of the elements (child custody, finance, division of property, retirement, etc). I completely believe that he is a trustworthy attorney that truly wanted to help make a difficult time in my life as peaceful as possible. Although I never would wish a divorce on anyone, having an attorney like John Duncan made a difficult situation as smooth and easy as possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing an attorney!

I hired John to represent me at a probable cause hearing and a TPO hearing. During the initial consultation and through the entire process he was very professional, and clearly described the process and what to expect. He came across as very knowledgeable and honest. I never got the feeling he was telling me what I wanted to hear. In the court room he was confident and commanding which lead to a favorable outcome. I will definitely use John again if the need arises and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Attorney John Duncan does not communicate with his clients. He makes empty promise after promise and tell one lie after the other. He sells himself very well, but does absolutely nothing after you hire him. I would not recommend him to anyone. I am still married and i hired him 2 years ago for a divorce that should have been final in 6 months at the most!!!!!! He has created a serious financial hardship for me. Don't waste your time.

John, thank you for your gracious professionalism, clear and precise communication and speed in which you handled my needs.
Living with cancer is a constant unknown. When my husband suddenly became very ill we realized we needed to have a Power of Attorney and Will drawn; I felt overwhelmed. I had never had the need to hire an attorney and knowing that time was of the essence I needed a good attorney.
John took a lot of pressure off my husband and me. He provided me shelter from the storm so that I could focus on my sick husband and maintain our daily life. I was blessed to have an excellent attorney as John Duncan to care so much for our needs.
John, it is people like you that make this world a better place and I am proud to know you and to be able to share my experience with others.

I hired Mr. Duncan for a speeding ticket (87/70). I don't recall the exact fine, but it was several hundred dollars and three points against my record. Neither of which, I could afford. Once I contacted Mr. Duncan, he suggested I take a defensive driving course before I went to court. The actual court date was quick and painless. After a short discussion with the judge, Mr. Duncan had my fine reduced to $100 and no points. After adding up the fine, the driving school and Mr. Duncan's fee, I still payed less that the original ticket. I will definitely hire Mr. Duncan again if I ever need legal help.
