I came to Mr. Sereebutra at the beginning of 2020 as a very distressed individual. I was arrested back in 2019. While not going into every detail of the incident, I was ultimately accused of a very serious offense that I did not commit. This was my first time ever being arrested, and due to the sever...ity of the consequences that I knew could follow a charge of that degree, it had all started to weigh very heavily on me mentally. On my frantic search for a criminal defense attorney, this is when I came across Mr. Sereebutra. Since the first day I stepped into his office for consultation, he was always upfront and honest with me. While at the same time, always very helpful and supportive. The county I was charged in was one of the toughest to be charged with a criminal offense, and this would not be an easy case. He was sure that I understood this before proceeding. As such, I knew I was dealing with a very serious matter and had to find not just any attorney but the best attorney. My situation was complicated because I had a very short window to retain an attorney (11 days to be exact). After speaking with several attorneys, it was clear that most would not even touch a TPO case because they assume that it’s too difficult to get it dismissed. And in many cases, this is true. However, once I spoke to Theo, I knew he was the best and only attorney for me. Theo saw right through the false and preposterous claims and went to work building my defense. I had always maintained meticulous records, and Theo let me know exactly what was needed. He and I first spoke on a Friday, and by Monday evening, he was already deep into my case. I was suffering great distress and had trouble sleeping because of the malicious lies. Theo was so concerned about my lack of sleep that he called me to provide some reassurances. What attorney has this much compassion? Staying in touch with Theo was very easy, as he was available by phone and email. If he was out of the office, his wonderful Legal Assistant, Marijo, relayed my concerns in a timely manner. The communication was exceptional, and Theo always explained matters without overwhelming me with legal jargon. The day of the hearing, I arrived early at the Courthouse, and Theo was already there waiting for me. He wasn’t asking last-minute questions, shuffling through paperwork, or going over evidence; he was extraordinarily prepared. His cool and calm demeanor brought a sense of peace to me. In Court, Theo was so masterful that I didn’t even have to speak at the hearing. Through his cross examination, he totally shredded the false TPO and exposed the lies. He even proved that this person had committed acts that were arrestable offenses. The TPO was rightfully dismissed, and as promised, Theo followed through by making sure that I received all applicable paperwork, including the all-important Order of Denial for a TPO signed by the Judge. If you are facing a legal situation, especially due to malicious lies, please take it seriously. You can lose everything, including your freedom, your home, your career, your family, and your reputation. Theo understands and will fight for your defense as if he was fighting for his own life. Had I not had Theo as my attorney, my life would have been ruined. Do not ever risk going into a courtroom with just any attorney. Our child was detained by the police for terroristic threats at school.
