Horrible Attorney report to GA BAR
Horrible Attorney! Have filed a grievance with bar association Mr. Drake has a very dangerous legal defense for his clients, “WAIT UNITL YOU ARE INDICTED” is what he will tell you. He will take your money and do NOTHING. You will sit in jail without any communication from him. He will not visit no...
While we always strive to obtain the best results for our clients, sometimes those results take longer than we would like. When dealing with serious felony charges involving allegations of a drive by shooting with multiple victims, some of whom were children, and a similar allegation from the city of Atlanta, it is unfortunate but not surprising that bond was denied twice. In response to your allegation that nothing was done I personally met with your loved one 3 separate times in the 3 month period of his confinement, conducted a preliminary hearing and bond hearing and another separate bond hearing. I would add that our efforts on the case lead directly to some of the allegations of aggravated assault being dismissed. Further we took great pains to take your many phone calls and made myself available for conferences, text messages and emails to answer your many questions and concerns. We are sorry your loved one did not contact our office if he was confused. I would again note that in the 3 months this client has been detained I personally visited him at the jail 3 separate times. Apparently he had no problem contacting you, and all our clients are welcome to contact us via telephone as well as collect emails from the facility are always accepted and responded to promptly. We, as is our normal course of business, have provided a full accounting of all work performed in the case and have returned the unused portion of the retainer to you via certified mail. We wish you and your loved one the best of luck going forward with this case. Our hearts go out to you and your family and all those who are unjustly detained on unproven allegations. In the immortal words of the late great Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "We refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt."

Don’t hire this attorney
He showed no interest. Convinced me to take a ridiculous plea and told me I would only do about 1 year since I didn’t have a record and I done 4 years and just recently coming home. I guess he only fight for certain cases. So basically if you don’t want to do a lot of time don’t hire him.
While we strive to get the best results possible for our clients sometimes a plea is the best option, because the effect of a conviction after trial is often times punishment that is more severe than that offered for a plea. Because this reviewer chose to post anonymously I cannot respond with any further detail other than to say the choice to plea or go to trial is always the client's not the lawyers.

Don't get thrown under the bus!
Scott showed little interest in defending my son, even though we hired him and paid in full up front. He had excuses for every time our case was delayed or postponed. He was not available to talk to my Incarcerated son or myself. Not only did he have personal issues, he also prioritized his cases...
"Scott Drake is a highly experienced and respected attorney. He works, and fights hard for his clients rights, and gets excellent results. Scott has an enormous amount of criminal law and trial experience, and anyone who hires him will be in great hands."
