Horrible Attorney report to GA BAR

Horrible Attorney! Have filed a grievance with bar association Mr. Drake has a very dangerous legal defense for his clients, “WAIT UNITL YOU ARE INDICTED” is what he will tell you. He will take your money and do NOTHING. You will sit in jail without any communication from him. He will not visit no...r do anything for your case. He will just collect your money and wait until it’s too late to make a move. Don’t risk your life with this man. Do your research first.

While we always strive to obtain the best results for our clients, sometimes those results take longer than we would like. When dealing with serious felony charges involving allegations of a drive by shooting with multiple victims, some of whom were children, and a similar allegation from the city of Atlanta, it is unfortunate but not surprising that bond was denied twice. In response to your allegation that nothing was done I personally met with your loved one 3 separate times in the 3 month period of his confinement, conducted a preliminary hearing and bond hearing and another separate bond hearing. I would add that our efforts on the case lead directly to some of the allegations of aggravated assault being dismissed. Further we took great pains to take your many phone calls and made myself available for conferences, text messages and emails to answer your many questions and concerns. We are sorry your loved one did not contact our office if he was confused. I would again note that in the 3 months this client has been detained I personally visited him at the jail 3 separate times. Apparently he had no problem contacting you, and all our clients are welcome to contact us via telephone as well as collect emails from the facility are always accepted and responded to promptly. We, as is our normal course of business, have provided a full accounting of all work performed in the case and have returned the unused portion of the retainer to you via certified mail. We wish you and your loved one the best of luck going forward with this case. Our hearts go out to you and your family and all those who are unjustly detained on unproven allegations. In the immortal words of the late great Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "We refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt."

He's the champ you need when you get knocked down!

Let me be clear. This guy isn't rainbows and butterflies or strawberry icing on a cake. There's a lot of lawyers out there who like to give you false promises with a fake smile just to get paid when they are not even sure of what they can do for you. Scott Drake is blunt, bold and brilliant. I was b...lessed to have him in my corner. First meeting him I thought that this guy was out to fry me just as much as the district attorney honestly. He was straight forward with the possible consequences and known risks of getting involved on the wrong side of the law. I had a very serious case with three felony charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and terrorist threats. Knowing how all those charges made me seem dangerous Scott helped project the vision that I had made a mistake but was a good man just trying to get back to supporting his two years old daughter. Scott helped the court and the superior court judge see the part of me that the legal papers did not show. Every time we were in court he made the thorough effort in showing the court my ties to the community and my positive impact on those around me. I was arrested two weeks before COVID-19 went into affect and shut everything down including the courts. Scott fought hard for me in getting my slot for video court which is the only reason I was able to be release from jail in less than 6 months. If I could recommend a lawyer to anyone who got themselves in an unfortunate legal situation he would be, not only the best, but the only choice in having legal representation.

Scott Drake

Scott was professional and personable when handling our case. He was always reachable no matter what time of day or night if we had questions or concerns. Now I consider Scott a friend and someone I can go to if I need legal advice or help with another case. I would recommend Scott to anyone in need ...of legal representation. Thank you Scott for everything you’ve done and are still doing for us!

Don’t hire this attorney

He showed no interest. Convinced me to take a ridiculous plea and told me I would only do about 1 year since I didn’t have a record and I done 4 years and just recently coming home. I guess he only fight for certain cases. So basically if you don’t want to do a lot of time don’t hire him.

While we strive to get the best results possible for our clients sometimes a plea is the best option, because the effect of a conviction after trial is often times punishment that is more severe than that offered for a plea. Because this reviewer chose to post anonymously I cannot respond with any further detail other than to say the choice to plea or go to trial is always the client's not the lawyers.
