Biography
After a career as a Psychologist/Mental Health Counselor I decided to pursue a career in Law. I have found that my experience as a Counselor was good preparation for the practice of Law, particularly in Family Law Cases. The primary skill to be successful in either of these professions is to be a good listener. Lawyers are known for “talking” but unless you have first paid attention and listened to the Client, the Judge and Opposing Counsel it is difficult, if not impossible to say the right thing.
I am married with three children and reside in Dekalb County, Georgia. I grew up in South Georgia and moved to Atlanta after graduating from the University of Georgia. I was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of America through my son’s attainment of his Eagle rank. I also greatly enjoyed coaching my daughters’ recreational league soccer teams. My wife teaches school in the Dekalb County Public School System, which all of my children have attended. I enjoy my free time and love to fish and pursue wild life photography.

Took time to get to the bottom of my Avvo question
Consulted Mr. Hopkins via Avvo regarding the Motion to Dismiss a small claims case without prejudice. He took much more time than what I expected to help me work through the key issues of the case and what to do in lieu of other attorney recommendations.
