Great legal care during divorce, but left me stranded in the end
Shawna has a rare blend of brains, compassion, and cunning negotiation. During the divorce she was completely on top of things. However, now nearly 5 months after the final divorce hearing, I still don't have signed divorce papers and Shawna has not returned my numerous phone calls. I didn't see this...
Thank you for your feedback! I am very surprised by this comment, and I would love the opportunity speak to you about this issue! I can assure you that we would never allow a case to go unresolved, so I’m very sorry to hear about your experience! Unfortunately, it can take judges a long time to finalize orders after a trial, because they are very busy. As for the issue of not being able to communicate with me, my phone number did change as I took on a new role at another firm, but I updated my information with the bar and sent it to all of my clients. You are welcome to contact me directly so we can figure out together where this miscommunication happened.

Phenomenal Counsel
Shawna is a phenomenal attorney. From answering my frantic questions and calming me down, to fighting for the rights of my children and myself. I have spoken with many lawyers and she was the only one to make me feel like my case was important and not just another paycheck. Her compassion, strengt...

Communication is an issue
While knowledeable in overall family law, Ms. Woods was extremely difficult to communicate to and with throughout the entire process. Quite often repeated communication attempts were responded to days and even weeks later resulting in frustration, anger, and a feeling of distrust. Divorce with chil...

Trustworthy, Smart, and Professional
Ms. Woods handled my divorce. The experience could not have been easier with Shawna guiding me through the process. She was always attentive, returned my calls, and was available during tense moments. She not only navigated the legal aspects, but provided a friendship during a tough time in my lif...
"Shawna is a fighter, and LOVES being in court. That reputation is why and how she is able to successfully handle domestic and family law cases with such skill. A self-starter with good instincts and even better judgment. Hire her with confidence."
"Shawna was opposing counsel in a difficult custody case. Both parents were actively involved in their children's lives, but had very different parenting views. Shawna vigorously advocated for her client while remaining professional and courteous. It was a pleasure working with her and I look forward to our next case."
"Shawna is a true advocate for her clients. She is highly knowledgeable about all facets of family law and is always able to formulate creative solutions to even the most novel legal problem. The combination of her courtroom skills, experience, creativity and caring make her not just a good lawyer but a great one."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Shawna for years as opposing counsel on various cases. In every case, she zealously advocated for her client while maintaining her professionalism. She knows that sometimes 'fighting' for her client means working to resolve a case rather than taking a case to trial. But, if the case can't be settled, she is ready to take it to trial."
"Ms. Woods and I previously worked at the same firm. She is and always has been a no nonsense attorney who will fully fight for her clients, while being completely aware the current law."
"I had the opportunity to work with Shawna on a rather hotly contested child custody matter. Situated as opposing counsel I appreciated her professionalism and collegiality. She was certainly dedicated to her client's interests, yet she was also capable of working toward a solution that satisfied both parties."
"I wholeheartedly endorse this lawyer. Ms. Woods is a zealous advocate for her clients, with a formidable presence in the courtroom and a thorough knowledge of the law."
"I worked with Shawna many years ago in Atlanta. Shawna has a reputation for being a very tough negotiator and if the negotiations fail, being effective and well prepared at trial. She really fights for the best result. I feel very comfortable referring someone to her should they need a family law attorney in Georgia. She is the best!"
"As you can see from her many client endorsements, Shawna is a passionate advocate with rare talent. I met Shawna as opposing counsel and although we fervently advocated for our respective clients, I admired her dedication and poise. I recommend and endorse her work."
"I endorse this lawyer. I met Shawna years ago when we were adversaries in a domestic matter. She was very impressive and a strong advocate for her client while still remaining professional. Since that time, I had several cases with her firm. A couple of years ago, my husband and I were looking for a managing attorney to supervise the lawyers in our firm. The first person we thought of was Shawna. Although she was running a very successful practice at the time, it turned out to be a great fit for us and for her. She is an outstanding litigator, and person. I am proud to have worked opposite her and now to have the opportunity to work with her."
"Shawn is a very impressive litigator and advocate for her clients. She is an absolute expert in family law and truly cares about each of her clients. I endorse this lawyer."
