From the attorney's website:
My name is Jeff Schreiber. Family Law is all I do, and I’d like to be your attorney.
On any given evening or weekend, you will likely find me in and around Summerville — coaching tee-ball in the springtime, walking with my wife and two kids through Hutchinson Square on Third Thursday, or buying produce at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. I love it here, and I consider Summerville to be the gem of the Lowcountry.
That being said, I have had success in the courts in Charleston County, Berkeley County and Dorchester County, and I cannot say that I prefer any one of the three. Similarly, I enjoy helping clients from all across the Lowcountry as well. While I am not lucky enough to be a native of the Palmetto State, having lived most recently in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area really makes me appreciate just how wonderful it is to live here, between the scenery, the opportunity, and the phenomenal people.
The road to opening my own law practice here at Lowcountry Divorce & Family Law in Summerville, South Carolina was a long and circuitous one, spanning more than a dozen years and three different states.
After growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, I attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. From there, I worked as a News Reporter in the Upstate, covering everything from ribbon-cuttings to murder investigations for the Seneca Daily Journal and Clemson Daily Messenger. After that, I moved back up to the Philadelphia-area, where I spent eight years working as a News Reporter for Courthouse News Service, Inc., a California-based legal wire service. That was also where I met my wife, a Registered Nurse.
It was while working for Courthouse News, spending my days rooting through litigation records for hundreds of thousands of cases in state and federal courts, that I caught the legal bug. At around that same time, my wife and I began visiting my father, who lives on Isle of Palms here in the Lowcountry, and became determined to relocate following my graduation.
I received my Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law in tropical Camden, New Jersey, nearly ten years to the day after receiving my undergraduate degree from Auburn. Within days, we finally relocated, moving from the suburbs of Philadelphia to right here in Summerville, where my wife and I still reside with our two young children and hyperactive dog. It still remains as the best decision we ever made.
After relocating from the Keystone State to the Palmetto State, I worked as a paralegal and then as an Associate Attorney for Anthony and Allison LaMantia at The LaMantia Law Firm, LLC in downtown Charleston. Anthony and Allison are two of the finest attorneys in the area, and I was extremely fortunate to be able to learn from both of them.
Finally, I realized the dream of opening my own practice. Lowcountry Divorce & Family Law allows me to provide the personal service that folks going through divorces and other aspects of family and domestic litigation deserve. It allows me to have my hands in every aspect of every case, so that I know my clients’ stories and goals as well as they do.
I practice only family law because I love it. I am a child of divorce who is now happily married, so I know and have seen firsthand both marital discord and bliss. I have also been the child stuck in the middle, traveling around the country following numerous parental relocations; in that, I know what children in a divorce are experiencing — I also know the value of stability, and the peace that it can bring to a child otherwise torn between two houses. In my practice, I enjoy watching spouses grow stronger, kids start smiling again, and parents move on as best possible to that next chapter in their lives.
Please call me so that we may sit down and talk about your case. It would be my pleasure to help you in any way that I can. As I said — family law is all I do, and I’d like to be your new attorney.
