I'm a retired Marine Corps infantry officer, judge advocate and military judge who practices criminal defense law in state and federal courts out of my law firm located in the high moutains of northwestern North Carolina. I still consult on and handle military criminal defense cases, as well. My primary focus is on felonies involving drug offenses, sex offenses, assaultive behavior offenses, fraud-based offenses, and white collar crime offenses. The great majority of my cases are in North Carolina (with 85 percent of my efforts devoted to federal matters), though I have and am still willing to travel to other states and overseas to handle criminal matters.

Simply the best!
Was charged with felony larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by felon. I was initially given a court appointed attorney who tried to get me to take an open plea on my first appearance. I spoke with Mr. Nunley to get a second opinion, was very impressed, and hired him immediately. After re...

No one compares...he is by far the best in North Carolina
Watch Mr. Nunley in the courtroom was like watching a man among boys. He is crafty, eloquent and has a fluency of the law only available to those lawyers that have a gift...no amount of studying or experience can compare - and he has both, so he is a triple threat. Worth every penny and more.
"Robert E. Nunley and I have tried multiple cases together. He is a "go-to" lawyer for other lawyers in Raleigh - meaning that other lawyers will call him up or stop by his office to consult with him about difficult issues. He is widely regarded as one of the top federal criminal defense lawyers in Raleigh. He routinely gets truly outstanding results for his clients. As one client mentioned in a review on this site, he is a force to the reckoned with."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. Robert Nunley is an outstanding attorney. I have known him for several years and I have always found his work to be of the highest quality.
