When Nathan was a prosecutor I found him to be both easy to work with and zealous as an advocate for the State; in private practice he pushes hard to get the best result for his clients. Perhaps more importantly, he is a principled individual and an upstanding member of the community!

I first met Nathan while he was serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Onslow County. I selected other on how I know Mr. Sweet because none of the options appropriately describe our history. I met Mr. Sweet when he was a defense attorney and I was a Superior Court Prosecutor. Though Mr. Sweet was a newly minted attorney, it was obvious that he had a strong head on his shoulders and an adept understanding of the law. Several months later, Mr. Sweet was hired as an Assistant District Attorney and he became a co-worker with me at the Office of the District Attorney for the Fourth Prosecutorial District. Mr. Sweet immediately excelled in his new role as a District Court Prosecutor. In fact he did so well, Mr. Sweet was promoted to the position of a Superior Court Prosecutor. It was at this point that both Mr. Sweet and I had an opportunity to work on top level felony cases in the highest trial level court in North Carolina. In that position, Mr. Sweet was able to hone his trial capabilities. He is now a strong advocate with an ability to sway judges and juries.
